Chereads / Alpha's Daughter: Crimson Rose / Chapter 9 - Taking Action

Chapter 9 - Taking Action

Eleonora couldn't find any sleep last night. She had stayed up to install the software of all cameras and sensors and finished setting up the security system. With the plans she had, she needed to finish everything today.

After she was done with that, she looked up Alpha Dane and his pack. What a coincidence he was the Alpha of the Crescent Moon Pack. It was no wonder for Eleonora that rogues appeared on their land if one of his pack members, the brunette woman, was possibly seeing one a rogue.

But thanks to that she would be able to find an easy way to talk to the woman. Over night she had formed her plan: Join the group that goes to the Crescent Moon territory, stay and train with them, become friends with the brunette and find the rogue's hideout. Easy right? Well, that is if her father let's her leave, but she already had a plan for that, she only had to put it in action now.

She sipped on her third coffee this morning and looked at the clock. 7am. Goddess, she hated early mornings, especially if she didn't get an ounce of sleep. She gulped the last coffee down and went downstairs. Her family had already started with breakfast.

"Wow." Her father stated surprised. "I never thought I would see you up this early and awake."

She rolled her eyes at him. She blamed it on the lack of sleep.

"She might be awake, but she still got her morning attitude." Dione interrupted.

"Oh, shut up Dede!" Eleonora took a plate and sat down at the table.

Theo put a few pancakes on her plate and her father placed a hot chocolate next to it. "I think you need something else but coffee now. You smell like a walking coffee bean."

Everyone chuckled as Eleonora took the first bites of her food. "Dad-" The mumbled between bites. "I want to join the group going to the Crescent Moon Pack."

Her father spit out his coffee. "You want what?"

"Darling!" Her mother jumped up in surprise of her husband spitting his coffee, everyone else tried to take cover from it.

Eleonora swallowed her last bite. "You heard me. I want to go to the Crescent Moon Pack too."

"Why all of a sudden?" He asked baffled wiping his mouth with a napkin.

"I installed the security system in our pack. I can do the same for Alpha Dane's territory."

"You can just send him the materials and instructions. Dede is already leaving next week, you should stay here. And it hasn't been long since you were hurt."

"Maybe it isn't such a bad idea." Her mother interrupted them, smiling gently.

"What d-" Her father stopped in the middle of his sentence, looking straight into his wife's eyes and nodding.

Eleonora rolled her eyes at the scene. Another ability that mates have, they can communicate in their minds apparently. Nora had told her she does it a lot with Dan. But as far as it goes for her parents, they only do it to discuss something nobody else should hear.

"Fine, I'll add you to the list. You can also help with training other wolves." Her father said, rubbing the back of his head as if he was still against it.

"But take it easy for the next days, it hasn't been two weeks since you got hurt." Her mother added.

But Eleonora didn't mind that, she was happy she could go to the neighboring pack. The first thing she would do was finding the brunette woman and everything would set into motion.

After breakfast Eleonora left for the office of her father, she had told Tony the day earlier that she would explain the new security system to him. It was more important now that she was leaving for their neighboring pack.

She opened the door to see that the office was still empty. She walked to her father's desk and sat down on his chair. She peaked at her phone; Tony was supposed to come in a few minutes.

Since she was bored Eleonora started to check all off the thermal cameras and motion detectors. Everything looked to be fine, and everything was giving a clear picture. She could always see everything on her phone. Just a safety matures in case someone hacked the control room or got access to the system room. As she was done with that she leaned back in the chair and looked over the documents on the table. She opened a folder with the topic 'Confidential Information'. Well, don't blame her for reading something so obviously interesting.

She started going through the papers, they were documents of pack members, most of them who joined the pack when her father took over this territory. Eleonora imagined that there were a few people who didn't like that. The file of each person was marked either red, green or white at the side. The green ones where the people who joined the pack, the white ones stood for the people who had joined other packs peacefully. And the red marked files had other notes pinned to them. Some read 'Deceased' other's read 'Rogue', but only a few had more specific notes listed.

Two of them were called 'Jonny Donovan' and 'Maxwell Thompson', the additional text only stated 'Rogue: Dangerous'. That Jonny had 'Attempted Murder' on the list too. Sounded like some bad criminals.

As she scrolled through the last pages, she found two files that were different. One was colored black, the other was orange. The black one was about a 'Christoff Rose', Eleonora had to chuckle at the cute last name. She continued to read but there was nothing much only questions. 'Rogue?', 'Alive?', 'Dangerous!' Eleonora wondered how a person could be classified as dangerous if nobody even knew if he was alive or not.

She read further into his file and there wasn't even a description of his features only another name: 'Nathaniel.' And added was the word 'Dead!' to the name. She frowned at the name, searching her mind for the reason. She was sure she had heard or read it Somewhere before.

The old Alpha. At least she thought so, since the first name of the old Alpha was also Nathanial, and that Alpha Nathanial was dead. He was the Alpha of the Blood Rose Pack that had vanished by now. In its territory lived the White Claw Pack now, her father's pack.

She went on to the last file, the orange one. The first thing that caught her eye were the notes added, they read 'Rogue?', 'Pack?' and 'Dangerous?'. Everything seemed to be freshly written down in a different color than all the other files. But the strangest part was that nothing was certain about this person. Eleonora read the name 'Ace Sullivan' and wrinkled her forehead at the name. It didn't ring a bell like the one before that.

"You seem to be deep in thought."

"What?" Eleonora jumped up as she heard Tony's voice right in front of her, closing the file in her hand fast. "I didn't read it." She added fast, seeing Tony was looking at the file in her hands.

"Don't worry, I won't sell you out to your father. I think you should know what the files say." He sat at the edge of the desk, a coffee in one hand and with the other he was tipping on the files.

"Why does it read 'Confidential Information' then?" She leaned back in her seat, looking up at Tony.

"Cause your father likes to label everything. And in the wrong hands those files could get really dangerous."

"What do you mean dangerous?" She furrowed her forehead. "Most people from the Blood Rose Pack who joined dad know these information."

"You'd be surprised to see what they don't know. Some of the rogues in that file are really dangerous."

Eleonora played with the first pages of the file. "But they were once pack members too. If they had betrayed their Alpha, they would have stood here with us like the others." She almost laughed at her own words. As if that was even possible. Werewolves were mostly loyal to their Alpha and Luna. The Alpha of a pack had the special ability to command his pack members if he wanted to. Betrayal wasn't easy with such an ability, yet some members of the old Blood Rose Pack were able to reach out to Eleonora's father and asked for help. She didn't know every detail, but she was sure those people were the first to be killed by their Alpha when he found out about it.

"Some of them had good intentions, others didn't. There was no easy way with an Alpha like Alpha Nathanial." Tony sighed, placing his cup of coffee on the desk. "But let's get to business now. You wanted to explain the security system to me."

Eleonora nodded, leaned forward in her chair, took out her phone and opened her father's laptop. "Yes, Theo installed the last thermal cameras this morning and I worked on the software all night." She typed something on the laptop and turned the monitor towards Tony, for him to see everything. "The cameras are all numbered in the right order, the attached sensors stand below."

She continued to explain the software and Tony was rather quick to understand. Eleonora was glad about that, that would leave her more time to pack her things for her departure. The other pack members had already left a day ago and she was the latest addition to visit the Crescent Moon Pack.

"Oh yeah," Tony reached for something in his pocket and took out a little chip. "Alpha Dane send this for our members who were to visit his pack. But we send less people than he provided pieces."

"What's this for?" Eleonora asked, taking the little object into her hand. Only a number was written on it. '256'.

"I guess it's for a locker or something. He said they would provide everyone with a couple of things on their own. They have a rather strict training regimen and things they need for it apparently; it is supposed to help or something. Just ask the other's when you meet them." Eleonora wondered if their training was harder than the one that she did with her brother.

She put the chip into her pants, thinking to take a closer look at it later.

"But why did you want to join now?"

She shrugged with her shoulders. "I've never really been anywhere else." She lied. "I want to see how other packs work."

Tony furrowed his eyebrows. "I remember you going on many vacations with your parents."

Eleonora stood up, placing one hand on each of her sides. "I want a parent free vacation. I had enough time in the house being cozied up while I was hurt. I need some change of scenery for once." That was no lie, after her injury she was restless to do something and leave for a while. Finding the brunette woman and the black rogue was just another way to do that.

"Fine. Just keep us updated on everything." Eleonora nodded at Tony. "I'll be leaving to join your father and a few others near the border now."

"Did something happen?" Eleonora asked.

Tony rubbed his face. "You found those beartraps right? Well, we found out it was Jon who placed them there."

"Old Jonathan?" Eleonora asked in surprise, he was a very loyal pack member and like a grandfather to the pack members.

"He wanted to protect the pack from the rogues, you know what happened to his family. Anyway, he didn't think about his own pack members taking those routes and lead us to the spots right away. I'm on my way to help your father and the others to remove the traps safely."

"That's good. I can understand why he did it." Old Jonathan had lost his wife and daughter in a rogue attack and hated them more than anyone else. The hate he had for them was easily forgotten because of the kindness he showed for his pack.

"Yeah, me too." Tony nodded in agreement before he left out the door.

Back in her room Eleonora started to pack her suitcase. The length of her stay wasn't decided yet, so she decided to take a second small suitcase and her backpack. The big suitcase for all her clothes, the smaller one for her tech stuff. She wanted to be prepared and have her things at hand in case something happened. And she still needed to work during that time. The good thing about self-employment was that she was her own boss, but that also meant more responsibility and all the work was left on her shoulders alone. But she loved her work even if it could get stressful at times.

After a while Dione came to her room and helped her to pack her stuff. She was more responsible for the clothes and Eleonora wasn't even sure what her little sister had packed for her. Knowing Dione, she could have packed only dresses and clothes to go out in. Eleonora had to make sure that there were some workout clothes in there too, and she had to remember to pack her black hoody and the pills from Dione. She didn't want to take the risk that a rogue could sniff her out from their first encounter.

"Maybe I should come with you." Dione said while folding a few clothes to put them into the suitcase.

"Why are you saying that all of a sudden."

"Won't you miss me?" She jumped up, sounding offended. "I'll be returning to Europe next week and you are leaving." She crossed her arms in front of her chest. "I thought we made plans." Dione left the room angry, leaving behind a dumbfounded Eleonora.

Eleonora dropped to the floor looking at the ceiling of her room. She did want to see her little sister more. Hell, she was more than happy to have her here. But she feared more for her pack members and other packs safety with the uncertain situation with the rogues. They didn't know how long the rogues had already been intruding into their territory or how much they knew already.

Eleonora let out a deep breath. Until now she hadn't really thought about Dione leaving again. She thought Dione and Klaus would work something out and stay together in the pack, or at least stay for a while longer. Well, maybe Klaus was leaving with Dione, he could join some fighter program in the pack where Dione is studying to become a doctor. She wondered how long it would take until they would meet again in person.

But right now she had to talk to Dione and apologize for what she did wrong and come up with a plan to reassure her little that she didn't want to leave her behind.

She got on all four and her heart beat increased, she imagined her red fur and soon enough she looked down at her paws. Eleonora knew her mother forbid changing in the house but her senses were a lot sharper in this form. She trotted to her door only to realize she had forgotten to open it before changing. She looked at her paws again, it would be impossible to open the door like this. She tried anyway, not wanting to change back. To her dismay she didn't have a door with a doorhandle but with a doorknob.

After a good five minutes and a door full of scratch marks from her claws the door opened. Let's just say it wasn't easy to turn the doorknob in a circular way with paws. She just had to make sure her mother didn't see the inside of her door, she would flip out.

Eleonora moved to her desk once more and picked a little key with her snout, hoping she wouldn't swallow it when she ran. Then she sniffed the air catching the fresh scent of her sister. She followed it to the back door and could thankfully open it with a tap on the doorhandle.

"Eleonora Denver!" Her mother called after her as she walked into the kitchen.

'Upps' Eleonora thought, turning on her tail and running after Dione's trail. On her way she found a few girl clothes, realizing Dione must be in her wolf form too. Eleonora had a guess where she would end up at.

And a minute later her assumptions were proven right. She stood in front of Klaus' house. It was a little one-story building with a nice and cozy open terrasse. As she walked closer, she could see a small beige colored she-wolf. Dione. The tops of her paws, ears and her snout were dipped in white, giving her a cute pattern.

Dione laid on what seemed like Klaus' lap, he was still in human form and patted Dione's head lightly. Eleonora smiled at the two, they looked cute together. She was happy for her little sister.

Dione jumped up from Klaus' lap. Looking menacing into her sister direction before her features softened a bit. She must have thought an intruder came. Klaus stood up too and waved over to Eleonora, obviously recognizing her. There was only one werewolf with red fur in their pack.

"I'll leave you two to talk. I'll bring a few clothes out if you want." Klaus asked as he walked to the door. He waited for Dione and Eleonora who nodded in agreement at him.

After a minute Klaus came back and placed the clothes on the table next to them. Dione was the first to change, she didn't bother that Klaus hadn't completely left. His face flashed red as he saw a glimpse of his mate before he returned inside. Eleonora chuckled to herself.

When she was sure that nobody was watching anymore, she changed too. Dione was already wearing a huge white shirt and some basketball pants from Klaus. She sniffed at the clothes and seemed pleased to wear it. She tucked the shirt into her pants in the front and sat down on a chair.

Eleonora was still naked, looking at the clothes before her, thankfully her long and thick curls covered the upper part of her body. She only had a pair of black sweatpants and an old grey t-shirt to choose from. She took both and covered herself with it. Since Klaus was a head taller than her and a lot sturdier the clothes were far too big. But it fit better then it would Dione, who was even a head smaller than Eleonora.

She rolled the ends of the pants up and made a knot at the side of the oversized shirt, feeling more comfortable that way.

"Here." Eleonora threw the key at her sister who caught it in surprise.

"What am I supposed to do with this?"

"First of all, I didn't forget you. I missed you like crazy when you weren't here. I should thank the rogue for attacking me because I could see you again. And that -" She pointed at the key in Dione's hand. "That's the key to my house."

"You have a house?" Dione screamed startled. "How to you have a house?"

"I told you I earn my own money with my company."

"You're not just earning a little if you can buy a house." She took a closer look at the key as if to find something.

"Don't worry it's nothing big, but mom and dad don't know about it. I thought you could take a little break with Klaus before returning to Europe or deciding what to do."

Dione's eyes sparkled visibly. She stood up and came over to hug Eleonora. "You know, I was never really mad at you." She smiled sheepishly. "Just a little sad you were leaving."

"Just take good care of the house, alright."

Dione nodded and ran inside Klaus' house. Eleonora could hear her sister talking about their vacation even from outside. She chuckled as she walked back to the pack house. Happy to see her sister smile at her again.
