Abhimanyu is taken aback by Akhil's sudden question about his feelings for Minakshi. He stammers, unable to respond and remains quiet for a few minutes thinking about whether his friend is right or not.
Akhil sensing his awkwardness tried to give him his piece of advice.
"No" came a serious response from Abhimanyu.
Akhil did not react to this because he knew his friend very well. It is very hard to convince him about his feelings.
It is Abhimanyu's habit to deny what his heart says.
"Then why are you so much angry with her?" Akhil asked him in response.
Abhimanyu sighed and bending forward said "I hate talking about that lady, and you know that very well".
"Yes, but you are suddenly treating her in a bad way, which is very strange". Akhil said explaining.
"I am like this always. What is new in it?" Abhimanyu said furrowing his eyebrows.
"Nooo, you are not Abhimanyu. You are not like this" Akhil said getting excited.
"What do you mean?" Abhimanyu asked him.
"I mean to say that if you do not like to talk about anything you just spit it out, but here you did not tell her about it and are treating her badly. She got to know from me and Lata that neither you like your mother nor you like talking about her". Akhil explained to him.
"She knows that I do not like my mother. How?" Abhimanyu asked a little confused. Yes was the only response that came from Akhil.
He told everything to Abhimanyu about whatever happened in the canteen.
So she is sad about my behaviour.
Meanwhile, Minakshi is still hurt by Abhimanyu's behavior and contemplates quitting her job. She confides in Lata, who advises her to give Abhimanyu another chance. Lata shares her own experience of dealing with Abhimanyu's temperamental nature and reveals that he has a troubled past with his mother. She suggests that Minakshi's innocent question may have triggered painful memories for him.
Minakshi was looking at the sky from her window, thinking about Abhimanyu's situation because somewhere or other she is also on the same boat. The only difference being she miss her father because she loves him and he hates his mother because he loves her?
"Okay, now it is getting late. You should go home now." Abhimanyu asked Akhil to leave.
" Okay, I was about to say that" Akhil said with a mischievous smile on his face.
" I will take your leave now. Is uncle back?" Akhil asked standing ready to leave.
"Yes, he came back this very evening," Abhimanyu said walking with Akhil outside.
He walked towards the door. Abhimanyu also went out to leave his friend at the door.
"Say hello to Uncle" Akhil waved his hand with a funny face trying to make Abhimanyu smile which is a very difficult thing.
Abhimanyu sighed and chuckled at his childish behavior. He waved his hand smirking and said goodbye.
"Bye and Goodnight," Akhil said with a smile and started walking to where he parked his car and drove it towards his home.
Abhimanyu closed the door and walked towards his room upstairs. He lay down on his bed and the question that Akhil asked him was echoing in his head and mind.
He turned to the other side to go back to sleep, but sleep was far away.
On the other hand, Minakshi was also not sleeping. Abhimanyu's thoughts were ghosting her. She was thinking about why he is affecting her so much?
Next day Abhimanyu's father went to the office early. He wanted to greet new employees assigned in his absence.
He asked Lata about the vacancies filled in his office. She told him about the 6 vacancies filled in his absence including an assistant's position.
"Who is Abhimanyu's assistant?" He asked Lata curiously.
"Sir, her name is Minakshi. Few months ago, she has joine" Lata replied politely.
Meanwhile, Minakshi is running late for the office. She is hurrying herself to rush to the office.
Today she is wearing a dark navy blue collar less shirt with a sky blue blazer and pants matched with the blazer.
She hurriedly tied her hair into a bun without combing her hair.
She put the potato sandwich in her mouth.
"Eat properly or people will say I don't give you food to eat" Minakshi's mother said looking at her worriedly.
Minakshi tried to finish the sandwich quickly. She was eating like a hungry person who had not eaten for days.
"Mom, she is not eating, she is gagging her mouth with a sandwich, choking to be precise". Roohi said making fun of Minakshi.
Minakshi gave her sister a sharp look saying to keep her mouth shut.
"Eat your food and don't say things like choking when eating" their mother scolded Roohi.
Minakshi ran taking the last piece in her hand and waving goodbye to both of them.
"What will happen to this girl?" Her mother said worried.
"Nothing will happen. She is clumsy". Roohi said again laughing.
Her mother rolled her eyes unbelievably.
Minakshi reached the office just in time. Huffing she went to the lift in the office and pressed the button on it to open.
As she was waiting for the lift, she saw Abhimanyu coming. She froze for a second.
"Good morning Sir," Minakshi said in a low voice to which he did not respond at all.
He was standing like a statue there.
"Come" Abhimanyu said getting into the lift.
Minakshi followed him silently.
There was silence between them till they reached the floor.
"Get me the file of Asthana's company" he said before going to his cabin.
She hurriedly took the file and went after him.
He took the file and asked her to go. She was about to open the door of his cabin when his father entered the room.
"Oh I am sorry dear, I did not see you coming" he said to Minakshi.
Minakshi remembered him immediately as she had seen his photo before in Abhimanyu's cabin.
"Good morning sir," she greeted him politely.
"Good morning, and you are...?" He asked her waiting for her answer.
"I am Minakshi. Abhimanyu sir's Assistant." She responded with a small smile.
"Oh so you are the one....huff finally" his dad tried to crack a joke at which she looked at him confused.
" What I mean is my son is a very tough person to work with. I appreciate you for this because it's been months you joined and you are still here." He said rubbing his hands together.
"By the way I am your boss's father" he said bringing his hand for a handshake.
"Don't you have any work to do ?" came a harsh voice from behind.
"I am leaving sir" she said to Abhimanyu and bowed a little to his father before leaving.
His father looked at her and then at his son Abhimanyu who was trying to drown himself in the file.
"What is it?" His father asked him in a serious tone before taking a seat opposite him.
"Hm, nothing dad" he responded back.
"I am your dad, come on tell me" he asked back again trying to spill the beans from his mouth.
Abhimanyu sighed and looked at his dad who was looking back at him without blinking waiting for him to narrate a story.
"Alright, so here it is..." And Abhimanyu told everything to his father.
"So you are angry at her, but she is still here which means that you do not want her to go" he said to Abhimanyu at which he looked confused.
"Do you like her?" He asked Abhimanyu without giving him a chance.
"Not again" thought Abhimanyu somewhere in his mind.
He looked at his dad who was waiting for his answer.
There was complete silence. After a while his dad got up from his seat.
" Where are you going?" Abhimanyu asked him.
"I am going as I got the answer" he responded.
"I did not say anything."
"But I heard everything, my son" saying this his father left smiling on his own.
