Chapter 24 - First Mission (2)

"Then we should rescue her."

Master Wayne smiled wryly. "You see, it is not that easy. Even though Larry does not stay at the shack he keeps her, he guards it with a knight and a team of his novices."

"Then we should tear it down," said Kyra, eager for action.

"My father, Master Crans, is behind Larry. The house he keeps her in is far away, and it will take more than three days to get there. Master Crans would definitely know if I leave my house for more than a day. Moreover, he has sent words to many with the purpose of stopping me from contracting anybody to get Elena."

Ashviel smiled as he understood his master's plans. If no one could be hired for the task, then it would only make sense that he send his apprentices. Zyair could not go alone, and Ashviel doubted Hik was anything more than a weed.

"When do we leave?" he asked Master Wayne.

"In two days, and with Zyair leading you."

"Then I reckon we prepare ourselves," said Kael.

"I am glad you understand," said Master Wayne, and a blissful smile furrowed his smooth face.

Rogers, a Capricorn knight, stood one on the paved patios in a Capricorn Prime building in the dome. Beside him was a girl, barely sixteen, and one could easily guessed she was one of the many women he philanders. He is well known as a tenacious womanizer, and is always seen dallying with woman.

"Are you sure you do not want to spend the night with me," he asked the shorthaired girl next to him.

"No," she answered shyly, "that would not be a good idea."

He made to move closer to her, and the girl tensed up.

"I wonder when you will quit, Rogers," a voice said from his back.

Sir Rogers turned, and a deep frown formed on his face. It did not last for long though, as his facial expression soon became one of dread as he recognized the owner of the voice.

"G-G-General?"

"Surely, you would not have gotten this worse if you had joined my Crossing Rapiers," said General Okhotnik.

"General Okhotnik," the girl said, offered a bow and then scurried away.

"Um, General," said Rogers, unsure of what to say.

General Okhotnik gave him a long stare before speaking. "The society has a mission for you— an expedition."

"Much obliged," said the knight.

"Come to my council room this time tomorrow, and I'll give you the full details."

"Certainly," said Rogers.

General Okhotnik nodded his head. "You may continue your petty affairs," said he and then left, starting and ending his discussion in less than a minute.
