In the world of Thriven there are people with supernatural powers call gifteds. The gifteds gain thses powers either through life threatening serconstances(serconstance gifted), or by sacrificing items or even living things to either angels or demons to gain some of there power(blessed gifted). Blessed gifteds are considered superior to sercobtance gifteds because the one preforming the sacrificing ritual can request the type of power the blessed gifted will get, and the more and higher quality items(or living things) sacrificed the more powerful the gifteds power will be.Although there are other was to get powers there is only one or two people every one hundred years or more that doesn't get their power the two main ways.
