*Beep* *Beep* *Beep*
The room was a labyrinth of metal and glass, with the coldness of the metal walls contrasting sharply with the warmth of the bright lights. The walls were lined with shelves upon shelves of strange and mysterious equipment, beakers and test tubes filled with unknown liquids that gave off a pungent chemical smell. The air was thick with the smell of chemicals, making it hard to breathe, and the floor was slick with spills and drops of various substances that squelched underfoot. The dimly lit room was illuminated by flickering fluorescent lights, casting a sickly green glow over everything, making the already eerie atmosphere even more unsettling. The hum of machinery and the occasional beep of equipment added to the chaotic and unsettling ambiance.
In the center of the room stood a large metal table, covered in a variety of surgical instruments and tools. The table was surrounded by a number of tall metal poles, each one topped with a bright light. The walls were adorned with posters and diagrams of the human body, along with various charts and graphs detailing scientific experiments and theories.
In one corner of the room was a large glass tank filled with a thick, green liquid. Inside the tank, a naked young boy was curled up, floating in the eerie glow of the liquid.
The overall atmosphere of the lab was unsettling and eerie, it looked like a place where something terrible had happened and could happen again, the room was filled with the sense of danger and mystery.
A loud alarm rang, and a red flashing light illuminated the otherwise dark room.
A short man in a long, white lab coat stood there. He had short white hair, white stubble, and a somewhat senile appearance. He sported a slim German moustache and deep black eyes.
He looked at a large tube filled with a green unknown liquid and a naked young human boy curled inside with an unknown glint in his eyes and a maniacal expression.
"Finally... Finally... My biggest success, my dream, my destiny," the man exclaimed, a maniacal grin on his face. "Nobody can stop me, nobody!"
He began to laugh uncontrollably, but soon broke into a fit of coughing, blood trickling from his mouth.
The boy inside the tube slowly opened his eyes as the liquid dissipated and the tube opened. He stood up and looked around, his eyes scanning the room.
Looking at the lost youngster, the man in the white coat composed himself and smiled maniacally,
"My Boy, welcome to the world. Meet your father, Glenn Makron, the greatest biologist of all time."
"You can call me Dr. Glenn, and you will obey my orders without question and never consider disobedience."
"Understood, Dr. Glenn," the boy said, his voice emotionless and his face impassive.
He appeared so emotionless that it was unsettling.
"Good. I lack a lot of my equipment, so I have to carry out the tests manually, a pain in the ass..." Ranted Dr. Glenn.
He circled the youngster, nodding occasionally as though praising a work of art. His maniacal grin exacerbated the problem. But the youngster remained unmoved, as if it didn't bother him.
He began asking various questions on what the youngster could see, hear, or feel. He evaluated the boy's various senses and concluded that everything was fine, at least for the time being.
Dr. Glenn pulled a knife from his pocket and stated, "Take this and thrust it in your palm".
Without hesitation, Ren took the knife and plunged it into his hand, blood pouring out as the knife lodged in the center of his palm. But he showed no signs of pain or discomfort.
Dr. Glenn burst out laughing when he saw this,
"AHAHAHHAHA....Good..good...You truly are my crowning achievement, ....ah...I forgot to give you a name... Let's call you Ren Makron."
Dr. Glenn nodded, as if savoring his own brilliance.
"Understood," Ren said flatly.
*Ren's POV*
As Ren opened his eyes, he was met with a bright light and the sound of beeping alarms. He slowly sat up and looked around, his eyes scanning the room. He saw metal and glass everywhere, strange equipment and liquids, and a man in a lab coat. He didn't understand where he was or how he got there, but he knew that he was not in a familiar place.
Ren slowly got out of the tank and looked at himself, noticing that he was naked. He felt no embarrassment or shame, just a sense of detachment. He looked at his hands and saw that they were perfect, no blemishes or scars. He realized that he was not like other people.
Dr. Glenn approached him and introduced himself as his father, but Ren didn't feel any connection or familiarity. He processed the information without any emotional response.
Dr. Glenn began to inspect Ren, asking him various questions about his senses and abilities. Ren answered them mechanically, his voice flat and emotionless. He didn't feel any pain or discomfort when Dr. Glenn asked him to thrust a knife into his hand
*Ren's POV end*
"Come on in and let me show you around."
Dr. Glenn remarked this as he removed the knife from Ren's grip and placed it in a beaker full of an unknown liquid.
Ren nodded and followed Dr. Glenn, his mind racing with ideas.
He gazed about quietly, or you could say he didn't display any feelings, or perhaps he doesn't have any.
He spotted many peculiar apparatuses made of metal, as well as some damaged tubes like the one he opened his eyes in.
As he moved his sight around, everything appeared fresh yet familiar, much like the language he was speaking, listening to, and understanding without having to study it.
He comprehended the concept of learning, as well as many other complex concepts, as if they were a part of him.
He would be perplexed if he had emotions, but he began reasoning his experience and determined that it was a part of his recollections when he was created.
Dr. Glenn noticed the youngster looking about, nodding slightly, and wearing an ambivalent face.
"Don't screw about and follow carefully," Dr. Glenn remarked severely as he began walking towards the room's door.
Ren silently followed him around like a robot and came to what appeared to be a tunnel.
He noticed something being sprayed on him as they entered and realised it was a sterilization procedure.
They then went into another room that appeared to be a dressing room.
Dr. Glenn handed him a white T-shirt and brown pants and added, "Wear this."
Ren scooped up the clothing that had been flung. It was his first encounter with these clothes, but he knew how to put them on.
Dr. Glenn also changed into a white shirt and black pants as soon as he was done changing into his attire.
"Enter through that door," Dr. Glenn said.
Ren nodded and moved his gaze to the door in front of him.
When he opened the door, he noticed dark stairs rising up in the front.
"Climb the steps and greet the world!" Dr. Glenn's voice came from within.
Ren began climbing only to find himself in front of an old, rusted door.
He pushed it hard, and it creaked open. A bright light entered the room when it opened.
Ren quickly covered his eyes, which had accustomed to the darkness.
He eventually glimpsed the outside world after some readjusting.
Duskborn, a notable Historian of Infencia, refers to this day as "The Dawn," while many call it "The Darkest Day in History",
but one thing is certain: it was the day when the world began to change.
It was the day that marked the beginning of a new chapter in history, a chapter that would be forever intertwined with Ren's existence, a chapter that would change the course of humanity.
