Darkness cannot actually emit light. Instead it is perceived as light to mortals and gods alike. The pillars are actually beacons. They stretch outwards towards the Darkness.
Avis reaches the planet only to find it near destruction. He finds that the only way to cleanse the world is destroying the infected. Which unfortunately is most of the inhabitants. They are deadly. As coming towards them can cause someone to succumb to dark thoughts. Only his god like aura shields him. But with so much evil his source energy runs in a time limit. This makes cleansing the world much more complicated as the inhabitants were already talented in magic.
He finds innocents not yet infected with Dark Thoughts. And the princess Aphrodite. She tells him that she could feel where the infection first began. In the domestic home district lies a young girl surrounded by dead family and friends. Her hands stretched, she repeats a distorted song of evil as Dark light is emitted from her. Black tears run down her face. She is ground zero. Destroying the source significantly lessens the amount of darkness in the world and raises Avis's ability to use his god power. He reluctantly kills the infected and as his power rises his final adversary stands from his throne. The king of the world of light steps down. An old Rava warrior now possessed by Darkness will confront Avis. The battle of gods will begin.
