Chapter 4 - Silver Forest’s Prologue (Part 1)

The beautiful, lush grasslands, the heavenly blue skies, the wonderful masterpieces of mountainous architecture, and the divine realm of absolute, magical wonder.

The immortal children's voices filled the spiritually dense air as they ran along the path to the bridges above the holy ponds by the Divine Magical Park. Immortal couples and families enjoy the plum blossom scenery at the hills, socializing with the little flower fairies that greet them at every turn.

A higher hill below the park has the gods welcoming each of their presences as they chat and play various games of chess, go, and simply friendly sparring.

A god with long, cascading plum blossom hair with violet ombré had sat down on a chair next to a table drinking a cup of osmanthus wine. Another god with long and straightened, red hair toasted their cup of wine to the blossom-haired god before them.

"Phoenix God, I toast to you for your benevolent anniversary of handling the solution in the Divine Jade Realm."

Phoenix God reacted in slight amusement at the red-haired god's words.

"Hey Death God, how long are you going to mention that matter from a long time ago? It just makes me wonder if you even helped that guy safely go to the mortal realm."

Death God gazes at Phoenix God as if he was wronged.

"My friend, why must you doubt me so much? I'm not Hades from the Divine Olympus Realm! I assure you that I have given him a safe passage to do his trials."

"You better, or I'm coming for your dogs."

"You wouldn't dare."

"Who wouldn't want such cute dogs to keep?"

". . .Fair."

Death God shook his head, drinking another cup of wine as Phoenix God drinks his own wine and looks out the window, seeing the immortal children playing around from below.

And a question arises.

What is that kind god doing now?

"Achoo!"

An immortal child with blue hair looks up with milky pearl-like eyes from their paper, silently staring at the slender man before her.

"Brother Silver, is Brother Phoenix talking about you again?"

"He dares to talk about me behind my back again?"

The man turns around, sniffing as the wind blows his forest green bangs lightly to the left side on his platinum white hair. His eyes were silvery violet, a white wing adorned like antlers on the right side of his head, and a striped white and brown hawk feather earring on his right ear.

He also has an exposed right shoulder and covered left arm wrapped twice in a scarf.

"Little Pearl, this is what happens when you have friends with high statuses. Those kind of friends talk about you when they're with other people, so you mustn't take Phoenix God's advice on making friends with the haughty unless they have good hearts."

And that was a valuable lesson learnt.

Little Pearl tilts her head at his lesson, setting her calligraphy brush down and standing up from her seat.

"But how would I know if they have a good heart? I can't just walk up to someone and ask them if they have a good heart!"

"Of course not, silly! No one really knows what the other thinks unless you're the Supreme Gods. But there is a thing you can do to know if they're decent enough. When you pass by people, greet them with a hello or a good afternoon and you can know if the person's alright by their tone of choice."

The little blue-haired girl shook her head.

"I understand the greeting part but what is tone?"

"It's just how they answer you. . .Little Pearl, you'll know when you do it."

The platinum-haired man turns his back to the water mirror board to erase the lesson contents as Little Pearl packed her books to go home. She passes by Phoenix God at the park bridge, greeting him with a good afternoon.

"Good afternoon, Little Pearl! Done with learning about Silver Bro? Did he give you a hard time?"

"No, he's been behaving well. He told me that you're crazy and to stop coming back home drunk from the Gods Gathering Banquet because he'll soon confiscate the Icefire wine you hid under your bed."

Phoenix God pretends to turn away and cough.

"I'm not that drunk, Silk Pearl! I just had a little sip of osmanthus wine with Death God that's all. And how long are you going to pretend that you are your own daughter? Why don't you get your own daughter already?"

Silk Pearl twirls around in sea magic to reveal herself as a beautiful young woman with long ocean blue hair and dazzling pearl eyesight, and a mark of a horizontal seashell with a pearl on her forehead.

"What about it? I like messing with Silver Forest~ And my destined one hasn't been born yet, so I can't get a daughter until they're here."

"You old hag, your destined one will be too young for you. Stick with the ones at your age will you? Or at least make yourself reborn as a mortal so it wouldn't be too awkward."

"I can't make myself a mortal yet! My destined one must be born first! I heard that the founding Divine Magic Emperor married a an immortal fox who was born in the same generation as you! Their love went beyond time and space that I want that very same thing happen to me!~"

Phoenix God shook his head, knowing how the Pearl Goddess's romantic fantasies won't stop her determination to wait upon a destined lover.

"The founding Magic Emperor at least took his time to realize that he loved Vermillion Fox after growing so fond of her over the years. I pray that you stop expecting that overdramatic retelling of their love story to come true for you and instead get yourself into the mortal realm already. Make it a destined love trial or something. . .actually, I should go ask Fate Weaver when that happens~"

"No no no, I don't trust you trying to meddle with my mortal trials because who knows what sort of tragedy you'll weave my life with!"

Silk Pearl hurriedly went to find Fate Weaver as Phoenix God looks on holding down his amused smile. He then hums a melody, casually walking to where Silver Forest was.

Would he remember what day it is?
