As Will walked through the sect, he did not catch much attention aside from those who had seen him sitting in the markets doing nothing. However, those people obviously did nothing when they saw him because even though they felt that he was weird, they didn't mind because many people in this world were weird or strange in some way.
He knew his way through the sect because Eisaa had told him about the sect when they walked through it earlier when she registered him as a disciple. As such, he obviously knew his way through.
After a few minutes, he finally reached a large building. It has a few guards outside, but other than that, there was not much security there. This was because there was always one of the six elders of the sect guarding there. This elder had long ago reached the end of his potential and there was no more use cultivating and pursuing a higher realm. He figured that he should make use of the rest of his life instead of chasing something futile such as a higher realm.
As Will walked into the building, he saw an old man sitting at the side playing chess with a disciple of the sect, but at that moment he had nearly all of his pieces left while the disciple only had his king and two pawns left. It was a completely one-sided game, showing the Elder's experience.
The moment Will walked in, the old man seemed to sense it and turned around, looking at Will who had just walked in with curious eyes. He knew every disciple that had entered the sect yet he did not recognize this one, which meant that it was a new disciple. When he saw that the person in front of him was blind, he immediately knew who this was. He kept track of all those disciples that caught his interest, especially those who the other elders of the sect told him to keep an eye on. This disciple was one of those who had caught his interest as well as Eissa and old Snow told him to keep an eye on Will. He was fifteen years old but only at the second thread of the spirit realm, which was extremely bad for his age even in the areas which had no qi. In this sense, he was extremely untalented even outside of the sect. On top of this he was blind, which made him further looked down upon. However, with all these disadvantages, Will was still looked highly upon by not only Eissa but also old Snow, who even he himself looked up to. He was very close to both of them, but they had not told him what was so special about Will. This alone showed that he was extremely special and very unlike the others. However, they had also told him that he should not show him any privileges and should treat him exactly like any other disciple.
"You must be Will," said the old man. He spoke softly, but every word seemed to contain a special magic to it that calmed one down automatically. He had a long face and a long beard that went halfway down his body length. His hair and beard were also pure white, but none of this mattered as Will could not see him. Coincidentally, Will could also not sense him, just like old Snow. As such, he instinctively jumped back in surprise when he heard his voice. This detail did not go unnoticed by the old man, but he quickly dismissed it based on the fact that Will was blind. However, as experienced as he was, he did not think about the fact that Will had found this place on his own without someone guiding him.
Will was so shocked that the old man's voice simply appeared out of thin air that he did not notice that the old man had said his name, which showed that he knew of him.
Will very quickly recovered his shock and bowed towards the Elder. "Disciple greets Elder," He spoke very respectfully as this peon could destroy him a thousand times with only a swipe of his hand. He could not sense anything from the old man, so he knew absolutely nothing about him and as such he would obviously not be disrespectful to such a person.
As he walked towards the Elder, he stopped a few feet away as he had no idea where the Elder was. Little did he know that he was facing nowhere near the elder at all, which the old man found quite funny.
"What is the purpose of your visit?" The old man spoke again. He would ask this every time a disciple came in even if he already knew the purpose of their visit.
"I need a martial art," Said Will as he walked towards the source of the old man's voice.
"You may take anything up to the peak of the spirit realm as those are available to all outer disciples as well as a low ranked silver core martial art. You may take the book for a total of one month before you must return it. You may only go to the first floor of the pavilion."
After saying this, the Elder walked away and sat back at the game of chess before making his move and saying, "Checkmate."
As the disciple lost the game, he got up and walked towards Will. Some disciples had jobs that they would do to get some extra money in the sect and this disciple had chosen to help those that went into the martial arts pavilion if they needed help. Obviously, Will was blind and therefore, he would need help to read the books which is not something that he had helped with before, but it was still something that he had to help with. "Follow me" he said as he reached out and put his hand on Will's shoulder. Obviously he did not know that Will knew where he was and that he could follow him on his own. As such, he would put his hand on Will's shoulder to guide him.
However, contrary to the disciple's expectations, Will shook the disciple's hand off his shoulder and said, "I only need help to read, not to follow."
This shocked not only the disciple but also the elder, and he finally realized that Will might be able to track others based on the aura they released and that Will could not sense his own aura, leading him to believe that he could not find his way around on his own and that he could not sense others.
This made sense as some people could sense the aura of others, but this was so rare that this was the first case of it that he had ever seen. However, he said nothing and simply gestured to the disciple to go along with it and help Will anyway.
After this brief interaction, the disciple did as he should and led Will to the first floor of the martial arts pavilion. "How should I help you best," the disciple asked respectfully. Will could sense that he was not truly respectful but he did not mind at all as this person was the one who would help him. After all, he was blind and obviously could not read.
"I can find the book on my own but I need help to read it," Said Will as he started to walk towards the bookshelves. There were thousands upon thousands of books here and they were mostly at the spirit realm while a rare few went up to the low ranked silver core martial arts. This level was open to all outer disciples and they would often come in here to take martial arts to study. All of the books that they took would be recorded by the elder guarding the pavilion, so no one dared to steal anything.
He then walked into the rows of bookshelves and started to look around at random books. The disciple was confused but decided not to question it since if Will needed further help he would ask for it instead of walking through the rows of bookshelves on his own. After all, the fact that he said he needed help reading showed that he was not ashamed that he was blind and he should be able to function on his own to find a book.
Will walked through the rows of bookshelves occasionally turning his head towards them, but he did not pick up any of the books. This went on for a total of a couple minutes before he finally walked towards one of the shelves and picked up a book. This book seemed to be random, but it was not at all random. Will had picked up this book based on the emotions that it gave off. All of these books were written by somebody, and when that person was writing the book, the emotions that they gave off were engrained into the writing of the book. Will was simply searching for a book that had the exact same emotions that he had in the form of inner breath; calmness or hope. The book that he picked up contained the feeling of calmness radiating it, meaning that the person that wrote the book wrote it while they were extremely calm, therefore the book should not only be more compatible with Will, but it should also be more refined and well made compared to others since it was not written while being overwhelmed by any emotions.
The disciple was confused as to how the person in front of him chose the book, but he did not question it further since he was only supposed to help Will when he asked. He was also confused as to how Will found the book in the first place being blind, but he quickly put this thought aside when he thought about the fact that Will could find him without any need for him to guide him.
Walking over to the disciple, Will spoke. "Would you please read this one for me?"
The disciple quickly took the book from Will and started to read through the summary of the martial art. As he did, he could not help being shocked. He then started to look at Will in a new light after he finally finished reading the skill.
"This skill is called the holy body of divinity, and it is unknown what rank it is. It is at least ranked at the peak of the void realm though. However, it is nearly impossible to train as one must be perfectly compatible with it to a level that no one in the history of the entire continent has ever been successful in training it. Are you sure that you want to take this skill? It is essentially useless and although it is thought to be powerful, you will never be able to train it." The disciple spoke with an obvious tone of astonishment. Obviously, this was a strong skill, but it was deemed entirely useless as no one had ever been able to train it.
Will was astonished when he heard this because he felt that he was perfectly compatible with the skill based on the emotions and aura that it gave off. However, he quickly calmed down because it might just be that the writer was calm when they wrote the book and it was not really compatible with it. However, he felt that it might be worth the risk to try to train it. However, if he was wrong and he was not actually compatible with it, then he would not be able to get another low ranked silver core martial art until he actually reached the silver core realm himself.
After a few moments thinking, he spoke with an absolute certainty. "I am positive that I want this skill."
