As Old Snow looked at Will, he knew that he was a genius and that he had been raised in a terrible condition for cultivation, and therefore was extremely weak in terms of realm for his age. He also knew that no one would take him seriously because of how weak he currently was. However, that would change if he was brought into the sect. If he was brought in as a disciple of the sect, he would be treated as a normal disciple in the sect and would not be looked down upon despite being weak.
As such, Old Snow quickly made a decision.
"He will be brought into the sect and it shall be announced, but don't make it a big deal so that it does not attract any unnecessary attention to him. He will be announced as an outer disciple and will have to work on his own to climb the latter."
This made sense as no cultivator would ever be brought in directly as an inner disciple or core disciple no matter how talented he was. All of them had to climb the latter on their own. However, for the true geniuses, this did not mean anything as they would immediately possess the abilities to get into the inner disciples or core disciples and would simply get there in a matter of time.
Will was, of course, no exception, even though he had a bloodline. He would soon naturally possess the abilities to get there on his own, and he would soon likely even be as strong as the sect master. However, he had to struggle his way up on his own. If they helped him too much, it would only hurt him in the future.
Eissa naturally agreed with Old Snow, and they soon left his room after talking about a few more things.
As she walked, Will followed behind her, and they eventually came to a building near the middle of the sect. This building was the area where disciples of the sect would go to do the challenge to move to inner or core disciples. However, Eissa had brought Will here for a different purpose. She brought him here to have him registered as a disciple of the sect.
When they walked into the building, Will could sense that there was an old man sitting there, seemingly lost in thought, but when he heard them walk in, he instantly came to attention and spoke.
"Miss Eissa, it has been a while since you've been here personally. I wonder what the purpose of your visit could be?"
His voice rang out, and it seemed to be kind and warm, but Will could faintly sense some disdain and hate buried deep within, as if he only acted kind. He also noticed that when the old man looked at him, he could sense extreme disdain even though he maintained his warm appearance. It was obvious that the old man did not care for him at all and that he looked down upon Will.
The old man was in the realm above the silver core realm, the same as all elders in the sect. However, there were very few of those above the silver core realm in the sect, only six in total. As such, the old man was regarded as a superpower within the sect. No one would dare to disregard him, not even Eissa, even though she had a grudge against him.
She had had a grudge against him for a very long time and this was a result of something that had happened in the past. However, they did not really show it based on the fact that they would not be able to act on it as they were both important to the sect as two of the only six above the silver core realm.
Eissa spoke coldly and seemingly without emotion. "I need him registered as an outer disciple," while gesturing towards Will who was standing beside her.
"Oh?" The old man seemed surprised, but he quickly recovered and replied, "What is your name, where are you from, and how old are you?"
This was the basic information needed for him to be registered as a disciple because, normally, the disciples would be selected from a competition to get into the sect and they would already have the information. However, there were the few cases in which an elder would bring back a person and have them brought into the sect. In this case, they needed to get the information directly from the new disciple.
"My name is Will, the place where I am from has been entirely destroyed, and I am fifteen years old," Will answered without hesitation because he already knew beforehand that this information was necessary. He had also found out from Eissa how long he had been unconscious, so he did the math and figured out that he was fifteen years old.
The old man and Eissa could not help looking at him at this moment with a bit of curiosity. It was common for forces to be wiped out, but it was extremely rare to hear that they were completely destroyed. This meant that very few people ever escaped, if any at all, and that the whole area around it as well had been completely wiped off the face of the earth. This was so rare that they had only ever heard of it happening before and had never even seen the aftermath of an area being completely destroyed.
However, this was the absolute truth. When Will's heart had awoken, it caused a terrifying space storm which had not only destroyed the entire kingdom he was in, but had also destroyed a whole million mile radius around it as well, leaving absolutely nothing there, especially not any survivors.
After a moment of shock, the old man wrote down the information on a piece of paper and handed Will a token. "Put this on your cloak to show your status as an outer disciple."
After this, he left without giving Will a chance to ask any questions. However, Will was simply stunned. Was it really so simple to become a disciple of the sect? He could not help but doubt it because it seemed way too simple and carefree.
"There would normally be a more thorough background check on the cultivators trying to join the sect, but because you were brought by me personally, they only need the basic information. As such, you are now an outer disciple of the Snow Moon sect. Follow me,"
Eissa cleared up all his doubts all at once, and then left without giving him a chance to ask questions. As such, he could only follow her.
Very soon, they went out of the center of the sect and to the middle region, where there were simple houses lined up in a row. Each house was simple, but no one would disturb them. That was because these were the residences of the outer disciples of the sect. Despite being only outer disciples, they were still treated well within the sect. However, they would get very few resources as compared to those inner disciples of the sect and they could not possibly hope to compare to the treatment of the core disciples.
As Eissa approached the simple little houses, she quickly went to one that was at the far end. The difference about this house as compared to the other ones was that it had a little wooden sign on the front that said "Vacant," showing that no one lived there.
When she walked up to the house, she quickly took the vacant sign into her spacial ring and spoke to Will.
"This will be your home for the time being. As you are an outer disciple, you will not be treated well compared to the inner and core disciples, but no one would bother you should you stay within your residence. Once a month you have to complete 3 tasks for the sect. These tasks are difficult and will be exhausting, but the result of not doing them will be getting kicked out of the sect. I cannot help you at all from this point on, so you will have to rely on yourself from now on."
She still spoke coldly as ever, but Will obviously didn't mind it since he knew that this was just how she was.
With these words, she left. She left no trace when she left, as if she had never been there at all.
After she left, Will walked into the house. It was a simple house with only simple furniture and a couple rooms. There was a bedroom, a kitchen, and a room for cultivation. Other than that, there were very few things. Without thinking much, Will walked around and found everything there was to find. There were a few candles for light, but as he was blind, he obviously would not light them as they served no purpose for him.
He then walked into the cultivation room and sat down. At this moment, he had removed his cloak and stretched his wings open. The house had no windows to prevent distractions or people peeking in, so he was not worried about anyone seeing his wings. After all, he could not sit down comfortably without opening his wings as they were inconvenient if he was not standing or lying down.
Suddenly, there were clouds of red and pearl qi, which formed into the helixes, going into his body. At this moment, he had started cultivating again. However, he immediately noticed that something was amiss.
