He had heard of elves this life, and his teachers used to tell him that the pact between the elves and the humans was broken. He thought they would urge him to repair the relationship, but it seemed like his teachers were following the teachings of the Great King. They taught him that elves want to rule over the land of the humans, encroaching on their lands that are filled with gems and gold.
Well, it was hard for him to accept it then, but after he learned of his past life, he knew who shared that exact belief. And that's why he knew he has to do the exact opposite.
