Chapter 1 - Prologue

Who am I?

Where am I from?

Where do I go?

I didn't know who I was or where I came from nor where I should go.

"Hey! Is anyone here?" I desperately shouted.

There was no sound other than rustling wind blowing through the shrubs, as if I was the only person left in this world.

Feeling terrified with no other option, I chose a random direction and started walking, praying I would found someone.

But even after walking for three days and three nights, I came across no one.

I was starving and thirsty, frightened in despair, and then I suddenly saw an apple tree on a mountain hill.

I stumbled toward the tree and took the fruit, ate it all.

That's when I got captured.

It turned out that I had stolen a valuable genetic material, an apple, an ancient lifeform originated from the ancient Earth. Its genes were completely pure, and this place was a genetic research facility on a planet G9737.

"The female convict is sentenced to a painless and humane end…"

I was sent to a room, different from the one that had been my prison for days. A handsome man in a white uniform politely greeted her "Hello. I'm Dr. Mu. This is the dinner we prepared for you. I hope you enjoy."

I sat and ate. In my despair, tears began to fall uncontrollably.

"I came to give you a deal"

"What kind of a deal?"

"I will save your life. You will replace my girlfriend and marry to another planet"

I agreed. Between death and marriage, I definitely chose the latter.

On the execution date, after I got injected, when I wake up, I was already on a spaceship. Dr. Mu gave preparation and princess's education. His girlfriend actually was a princess of Al Empire. Because Al Empire lost in the war, they had to send a princess to Odin federation as a peaceful truce.

The real princess wasn't much of a public interest. She was not the emperor's daughter but his niece. Her public identity was nearly at nonexistent. Dr. Mu even made sure that the rumors of princess harmed herself came out and needed to have facial surgery, so I could keep my own face since he didn't want me to have his lover's face

"Where is the real princess?"

"You are Princess Lorraine. As for where she is, it is not your concern."

As the earth's environment deteriorates and energy dried up, human beings had to go to the interstellar. In the moment of life and death, the gate of genes research had been opened completely. For having stronger body, more power and more opportunities to survive, humans had gene modification of themselves.

As time goes on, all the modified genes mingled, and the problems hidden in the genes gradually surfaced. People gaining abnormal power from fusion genes were increasingly rejected, especially those groups with difference in body and appearance from human beings were despised as "mutant". Six hundred year ago, a group of mutant rebelled and established their independent government as the Odin Federation.

On the other hand, through many years, Ying Xian's imperial family of Al Empire had maintained the purity of human genes.

"Odin wants to use the princess's genes for research. What will happen if they found out that I'm a fake princess?"

"You genes are pure. Don't worry. As long as you make no mistakes, you can live forever as Princess Lorraine"

Not long before we reached Odin, the spaceship had encountered a space pirate. Dr. Mu's team was killed when the pirate had escaped, but she knew it was the time he escaped to his love.

[Now she is Lorraine]

It was a beautiful and bright morning when the spaceship landed on Alicata Planet, Odin's center.

Lorraine smiled and walked forward, her heart filled with anxious anticipation. Naturally, this wasn't because she was soon to meet her fiancé, but because of the unknown world that lay ahead.

Qing Yue and Qing Chu, princess's new personal maid, didn't like here at all. Comparing to Al Empire, Odin federation were quite underdeveloped.

Flying cars taking off and landing, bustling androids, speeding vehicles, all different kinds of buildings...

Qing Yue was furiously complaining about something, but Lorraine was like a country bumpkin making their first foray into the city, … no, more of like a child who'd never left their room and had just opened the door excitedly staring at the world. Every sight, smell, they all were new and full of wonder.

Soon they arrived at their destination, Sparta Palace, the living area of Odin's ruling official, where she would be living from now on.

She saw that among the welcoming group, some had pointed ears, slit pupils, and a few even had long, waving tails.

So they were mutants carrying mutated genes!

According to Dr. Mu's education, few Al residents were born with physical attributes different from that of humans, but at birth they would receive surgery to remove these 'abnormalities'. Rarely would anyone so openly reveal their mutation.

A straight-back old man with pointed ears moved forward with polite yet aloof smile on his face, "Your Highness has traveled a long way. My name is Anda. I am Sparta Palace's manager."

Anda led them into a hall before they stopped at a large double wooden door, "The dukes are inside." He pushed an invisible button and the doors slowly opened.

At the table were six regal men of varied appearances. Bright sunlight streamed in from the windows, enveloping their figures in golden light.

"Princess of Al Empire should be here soon. You guys haven't decided who will be married with her?

The personal terminal's hologram should be limited to project only images in the room so the man who said should not see her who was behind the opened door. He wore black combat suit with black helmet. Couldn't see his face but blood stain was all over. The only person who could speak coldly to Dukes of Odin was Consul of Odin Federation.

"If you guys can't decide now, I'll choose on my own"

The beautiful man proposed to draw lots and six cards was flying out.

"For peaceful marriage, you guys should be polite and leave the princess a good impression." He said after they got the result. One foot kicked a large beast away while his left hand sliced another beast in half, bloods and organs sprayed over. Qing Yue fainted, so she decided to faint too.

She used the opportunity to take a nap, and when she awoke again, Qing Yue updated her with some news that she would marry to Chen Sha, Chief Commander of Odin Federal Military.

The next day, the wedding was held at Sparta palace's memorial hall. The ceremony was simple and not publicly broadcasted with very few guests. She wore a white wedding dress and held a bouquet of flowers. The man at her side wore a red uniform. He never said a word, and the aura he emitted felt as silent and icy as a snow mountain.

No one spoke a word to Lorraine and Chen Sha. Everyone seemed to know just how happy this marriage truly was.

After the wedding, Lorraine automatically followed behind Chen Sha, but her steps grew slower and slower. Without even knowing it, she'd already stopped.

Tears weren't only shed because of painful letting go of one's past. They were also shed in fear of the uncertain future. She was terrified of what the future would bring, but in her case, she couldn't cry, because she had no past to let go of. She could only grit her teeth and continue onwards.

Chen Sha had already boarded the flying car. He looked out through the window in Lorraine's direction. "Madam, the commander is already on board," the officer urged.

Lorraine pretended that she didn't hear. She turned to Qing Yue and Qing Chu who had been crying because they wouldn't be able to return Al anymore, "We'll be together," Lorraine said.

She maintained her calmness and was about to board the car when she heard Chen Sha coldly say "Princess, please remember, I will not wait for you" Suddenly, the car door closed, and the flying car took off, leaving only a whistle wind.

Lorraine could only stand there and stared. She knew that his personality was terrible, but not this terrible!

Luckily, Zi Yan, the beautiful man who proposed the draw offered to escort her back. As per Dr.Mu education, she already knew that he was not nice as he appeared to be. Ruthless, cold, unpredictable. He just wanted to keep an eye on her.

That night, a celebration was held at the Sparta Palace. All Dukes from 7 districts gathered.
