Meanwhile in Pearl's Room
A small girl around the same age as Pearl entered her room with hastening steps.
"EONNIIIIIIIII..... Pearl EONNNIIIIIIIII YOU THERE" she shouted her head off while entering.
Pearl who was soundlessly sleeping, unconsciously jumped off her bed and fell to the ground half asleep when she heard the noise.
"Huh..... Eonni why are you lying on the ground." the small girl asked innocently with a puzzled look.
Pearl looked at her while lying on the ground and said sarcastically faking an innocent tone-"My dear sister Kathrine, I just heard god calling for me in a loud voice, I am just trying to look for him so I could ask the reason for his shouting."
That young girl was Kathrine Senna's daughter, she was just a few months younger than Kathrine. Kathrine had big brown eyes which stood out in her appearance, with a small nose and an innocent smile, she was cute in her own uncanny way.
Thinking for a while Kathrine laid beside pearl and started staring at the ceiling above.
"W...hat areee you doing ?" Pearl asked surprised.
"What do you mean, I am trying to hear god's voice. I have some questions of my own." Kathrine said staring hard at the ceiling of the room.
Listening to her reason, Pearl politely asked- "Kat come close."
As Kathrine came close, Pearl flicked her forehead.
"Ouchhhh...Eonni not fair, you are so devious." Kathrine said rubbing her forehead.
"Heheheh..... and you are so bright ." Pearl said giggling.
"That I am" Kathrine replied proudly, both of them still lying on the ground and staring at the ceiling while talking.
"hahahahahaha.... come hear Kat." Pearl said and gently patted her head. Kathrine could lighten any tense situation without even trying, she had an aura of innocence, and her smile was contagious.
"Eonni, why are your eyes all red and swelled up did someone hit you" she quickly got up and clenching her fist further continued "Don't worry eonni I will take your revenge." before Pearl could reply Kathrine sprinted outside the room with her clenched fist.
'Heeeeeeeeeehhhh...Where is she going?' Perl thought with a tilted head, while sitting up.
After a few minutes, Kathrine returned panting heavily, after catching her breath she spoke- "Eonni you forgot to tell me who hit you?"
"You did not even hear my answer before rushing out, forget it now" Ignoring Kathrine's initial question Pearl asked- "Kat what are you gifting your Eonni on her birthday next month?"
"That is a surprise Eonni, and don't try to ask further questions regarding the gift otherwise I will have to lie to you." Kathrine said and looked away.
"I will tell you a secret of my own, and trust me it will be good." Pearl said, when she saw Kathrine was still not convinced she further added. "Let me give you a hint, it is related to energy consumption ?" Pearl said and smiled, she had thrown a bait and she knew Kathrine would surely fall for it, like every child Kathrine was also interested in the world of cultivation.
As soon as Kathrine heard that it was related to energy and its consumption she was about to tell when a sweet voice interrupted.
"Katy don't you tell her, it's a secret darling, it should be kept hidden until the time is right." a thin beautiful woman with shoulder-length black hair walked into the room.
"Motherrrrr" "Aunt Sennaaa" both said in unison and jumped up to hug her.
"My pretty girls." Senna said gently hugging them both and she further continued- "Congratulation Pearl," Senna said gently patting Pearl's head.
"Thank you, aunt Senna." Pearl said with a slight bow.
"Pearl so when di-" Senna was just mid-sentence when Kathrine interrupted, bringing her head close to Senna's hand -"Mother, congratulate me too." she said pointing towards her head.
''But why should I ?" Senna asked puzzled
"You congratulated Eonni earlier. I did not like being left out." Kathrine complained with puffed cheeks and folded hands.
Senna : "Pearl please tell her why I congratulated you?"
Hearing her aunt, Pearl proudly stepped ahead and said- "Your Eonni has started energy consumption and will soon develop her cest and become a cultivator."
"Wooowwwwwww, Eonni is soo coooooll ." Kathrine said while jumping up and clapping her hands. She was genuinely happy for her sister Pearl.
As they were having their conversation, Senna received a message on her bracelet from Cynthia saying- "Come outside."
"Girls I will be leaving now, you both take care of each other" she paused for a while and narrowed her eyes before continuing "Katy don't you tell Pearl about her birthday gift, you know Mama can hear even from afar."
"Yes mother, I would never tell a secret until the time is right you can always trust me with secret." Kathrine said while giving Senna a light salute.
"Hey Cynth, what's wrong why didn't you co-" Senna said to Cynthia who was standing just a few meters away from the door of the room.
"I am very irritated and furious at the moment, come let's talk over some drinks." Cynthia said while holding Senna's hand and dragging her.
"Cynth I have some work to do in the lab." Senna said retaliating.
"I have already notified your staff" She then turned around to face Senna and said with a grim expression - "I have to get it out of my system or else I will turn mad, and I cannot bitch about so-called King Thomas to no one except you, so give me your company."
"You should have had told me the reason earlier Cynth, how can I miss the opportunity." Senna said smiling slyly.
