Chapter 2 - Goodbye Old World, Greetings New World! (2)

Tamada opened the door to his dorm, but suddenly he felt as if his entire body was on fire. His eyes contracted as he inspected his body, trying to discover the cause for the pain but it was to no avail. He found nothing out of the ordinary and his heart sank.

The horrible burning sensation grew even more intense until Tamada was no longer able to handle it. He clutched his shirt with all his strength as he fell to his knees and gritted his teeth; trying to hold in a scream.

His body ached and shouted in terrible pain for 10 seconds, though it felt like an endless amount of time to Tamada.

"HELP!" Tamada called out. He looked with panic-stricken eyes in search of anyone to help him. Unfortunately, there was nobody around since they were all still gathered in the kitchen. Tamada had no choice but to endure the tortuous pain and scream.

Though suddenly, a wave of what felt like extremely cold wind hit his body, immediately relieving Tamada of the horrific pain that was casted upon him. He hyperventilated as he slowly got up from on the ground; staggering the entire time.

The moment the wave passed through his body, the entire building was enveloped within an eerie white silence that caused Tamada intense restlessness. His eyes moved sporadically from one location to the next, trying to discern any possible answers to the phenomena that had just occurred.

"Was it phantom pain? But it felt too real... Even though Freddy is known for his horrifying psychological manipulation, even he can't make someone feel this type of pain..." Tamada tried to come up with any answer, but it was useless.

Finally, hundreds of thousands of screams broke the silence in the entire building. Hair-raising screams echoed throughout the building, bouncing off one wall after the other. Endless fear, shock, and panic was filled in these screams.

Tamada couldn't help but shudder heavily as these screams assaulted his ears. He quickly ran into his dorm and locked the door. Normally students were only allowed to have their doors locked on Sundays, but this was no time to follow the rules.

"Uh oh..." Tamada felt a shiver run down his spine. He swallowed a large blob of spit as he hesitantly turned around. He was shocked to discovered a small floating girl with beautiful red wings on her back and a mysterious light enveloping her body.

Such a scene was something indescribable and practically out of this world. It was like a special effects scene from a movie, but in reality.

Tamada was distraught and immediately fell over. He was overwhelmed by too man emotions right now; confusion, shock, anxiousness, and intense fear. He eyed the floating girl with his frantic eyes, not daring to let it out of his sight.

He felt like he had just seen a god right before his very eyes. This was something he'd never forget for the rest of his life. The floating girl suddenly turned her gaze to meet Tamada's, and a playful smile appeared on her face.

"Hey! I know you're probably shocked about what's going on right now, but as long as you do as I say right now, I can guarantee you'll live just a few more seconds!" The floating girl said.

Tamada was still shocked but managed to speak a few words.

"Who... What are you?" His voice was shaky and dozens of emotions could be heard in his tone.

"Oh, I forgot to introduce myself, silly me! My name is Tandem, and I'm an Ghost-Fire Sprite!" Tandem quickly introduced herself while flying in small circles, leaving shining glitter slowly falling onto the ground.

Tamada couldn't believe his eyes, and he only grew more confused when Tandem introduced herself.

Tandem?

Ghost-Fire Sprite?

What the hell is a sprite? What is a Ghost-Fire Sprite?

Tamada had many questions that he wanted to ask, but Tandem quickly spoke again.

"Right now, Tamada, you should probably grab something in this place to use as a weapon. You don't wanna be killed during your first encounter with a monster right?" Tandem's voice was malevolently cheerful.

Her voice made Tamada shudder once more. Tandem's expression was still cheerful, but it held a hidden sense of amusement underneath. Her eyes were squinted into big slits but Tamada felt as if she was still staring at him.

Staring right into his soul.

But suddenly...

Grrrrggh...

The dorm door jerked violently under the attack of a creature. Tamada glared at his door, praying that whoever that was on the other side of the door was human. He tip-toed across the room and made his way to the peephole to try and take a swift peek.

His pupils contracted and his body shivered when his gaze landed on the silhouette that was outside of his door. It turned out to be a person with short brown hair and dull grey eyes and poisonous-green looking skin.

Big veins bulged from multiple areas on the person's body, indicating that they were under intense pressure, pain, and stress. Tamada's breathing halted for a moment when he noticed the gruesome face of the person.

Various patches of skin dangled from the person's face that was smeared with dark red blood. Pieces of flesh and raw meat were trapped in-between the teeth of the person and blood filled its mouth.

The person also let out strange and inhuman growls every few seconds that grew increasingly agitated overtime.

One single thought appeared in Tamada's mind that made him suck in a cold breath.

...Zombies?

He instantly recalled what Tandem said and swiftly backed away from the door whilst covering his own mouth. Tandem watched him in revealed amusement, guessing to herself what he'd do in such a situation.

But suddenly, Tamada's eyes returned back to their natural state; indifference. He immediately realized that this zombie was nothing too different from what he'd see every week or so. The only thing that was different were the veins bulging from the zombie's body.

Other than that, it was nothing brand new except that the deceased-looking corpse was alive.

"No pressure." Tamada thought to himself as he turned around and grabbed a thin, sharpened, and sturdy metal pipe that he had been preparing for a while. Initially Tamada intended to use this pipe to defend himself whenever such a situation arose.

Unfortunately, it looked like the pipe would be used in a different but rather similar type of situation...
