Chapter 3 - Volume 3 The god of light

Hwan sat beside Ji Lie, he replied, "I just heard rumours that he is a scary looking guy, that is a special book." Ji Lie placed Hwan's hand on the book, "Isiah made this book for me, it gets lonely inside here all alone. It is a braille; you can try reading it with your eyes closed."

Hwan's face turned red when he felt the soft touch of Ji Lie's hands touched him, he slowly closed his eyes as his fingers braised the letters. His heart felt at peace in the presence of a beautiful stranger, the dark cloud hovering over him were dispersed by the lightness emanating from Ji Lie.

Hwan patiently sat in his room as he waited for Ji Lie to finish preparing a meal, in the midst of his happy thoughts he felt the presence of an intruder. Hwan vanished out of his room and appeared in the lounge where he saw Isiah, kneeling on the floor Isiah said, "Greetings my Lo…"

Hwan covered his mouth as he grinned at Ji Lie, he whispered, "Shut your mouth or you are on night duty for eternity." Ji Lie was busy plating the food, "Isiah, did you travel well? Are you an acquittance of Hwan?" Isiah felt really uncomfortable to refer the Dark Lord with his name, "Master, I will refresh myself before having a word with you."

Isiah walked upstairs to change in his room, he placed the new clothing materials he bought for Ji Lie on his bed. After refreshing himself and getting into comfortable robes, he looked quite handsome and friendlier.

Ji Lie served the meal for the two, the tension in the room could be cut by a knife. "I might be blind, but I can feel the dark suffocating air in this room, Isiah be kind to our guest." Ji Lie plated food for himself. Isiah placed his chopsticks on the table, "H…Hwan pardon my rudeness. Don't take my master's kindness for granted…"

"I was hoping to repay Ji Lie kindness and help around here. I am homeless, and this is the first time I have felt a place that's warm." Hwan rubbed salt on Isiah's wound. Isiah angrily looked at him and said, "The palace has a vacancy best suited for your capabilities…" He quickly shut his mouth when Ji Lie touched his hand.

All his anger faded away when Ji Lie said, "It is rude to chase someone who needs help. Hwan needs a roof over his head until he is ready to stand on his two feet. I need help around here and Hwan showed up at the right time…" "What if he is a thief or a monster?" Isiah was trying his best to drag Hwan out of the mansion with him.

The look on Hwan's face irritated Isiah the most, if only he could expose the real reason, he wanted to drag Hwan to the palace. Ji Lie standing from his chair replied, "Isiah, everyone deserves a chance to prove themselves in life. Whilst I brew tea why don't you clarify to Hwan who the Dark Lord is…Isiah works for the Dark Lord Hwan."

Hwan leaning over to Isiah replied, "Yeah Isiah, tell me more about the Dark Lord."

"Master I will show Lo…Hwan the surroundings just in case if he decided to stay." Isiah forcefully grabbed Hwan out of his chair. They walked in a garden filled with flowers, standing in the midst of flowers Isiah said, "My Lord, your responsibilities lies in the palace…"

"Only a heart can see what the eyes…it was something like that from the Oracle and I found my fate here. Ji Lie is my fate." Hwan with earnest eyes confronted Isiah. Clenching his fists, he yelled, "You ousted him from his home, blamed him for murder when he was barely a day old! The world turned their backs on him because he was a disabled god! You never stopped them when they threw him away and now you want to return him to that same world! I created this barrier not only for wild animals but for monsters that roam in this world!"

Hwan tried to remember but the memory was far lost in his mind, "When did I oust him…" "He is the god of light, ousted for killing his mother with his excessive powers during birth." Hwan realising the mistake he did with his foolish youth only managed to stand in silence reflecting on his foolishness.

Isiah looking at him said, "There is no place for you here, you can leave, and I will explain the cause to master." Taking a deep breath Hwan replied, "I am going to stay here and look after Ji Lie, I was young and foolish. As your Lord l am begging for a chance to amend my mistake."

Isiah's eyes changed red, he cut his wrist and created a blood sword. Looking deep inside Hwan's eyes he said, "No one matters to me more than my master, if my words can't be heard maybe my actions can clarify my words." Hwan stood his ground, he sighed, "Isiah, I am not here to hurt your master…"

Isiah with his blood sword charged towards Hwan, before he could retaliate, he heard a chilling zither tone. Looking up the sky he saw Ji Lie with a zither in his hand standing on his sword. Ji Lie stepped in front of Hwan, he quickly fell on his face and atoned for his mistake.

Ji Lie facing at Hwan said, "Forgive me for failing to teach my student proper manners, please heard inside whilst I have a word with him." Hwan was impressed by the massive amount of energy he possessed, he stood at the door eavesdropping.

Isiah felt really ashamed for displaying such an awful behaviour before his master, Ji Lie drew a sword from his core. Only the most powerful beinh could form a spiritual sword. Pointing the sword at Isiah he said, "I hope you still have that fighting spirit because your forgiveness depends on that." Hwan knew Isiah was a strong competitor but what guts did this blind man had to face a General.

Isiah charged towards Ji Lie, with one stroke he cut Isiah's blade in half. Hwan dropped his jaw in amusement, his speed and strength was on another level. Isiah drawing out his second sword said, "I will certainly earn my apology."

Ji Lie's moves were swift and fast, his technique was mesmerising but deadly.

During the whole fight he kept his up-right composure, facing a painting Isiah he said, "When you are done cleaning have a cup of tea before heading back to work. I am impressed you managed to last this long; you have earned your forgiveness."

Hwan quickly settled on the table, Ji Lie passed in the room going to his room for a bath. Isiah after changing his clothes met with Hwan, sitting on a table drinking a cup of tea in utter silence. Isiah placed the signed forms before Hwan, "Both Kings agreed the terms of the contract. I apologise for…" "I apologise for invading your privacy." It was quite bold for Hwan to bow whilst apologising.

Starring at Hwan with cold eyes he said, "If you hurt one strand of hair in my master's head, I will personally cut you to pieces my Lord." Hwan spitted the tea in his mouth, wiping his mouth he replied, "I see, I will cherish every part of him. I will drop by every now and then, I place all matters in your hands."

Isiah left for the palace, in the bedroom he saw Hwan's clone, clones had no shadow and were puppets for display. Isiah closed the door, he sighed and said, "I have a bad feeling about all this, fate huh?"

Hwan sat beside Ji Lie who was fast asleep, the moonlight shined upon his beauty, "You are the god of light, beauty and wisdom. I have found my light."
