Anna hesitated for a moment. His glowing red eyes made her skin crawl. There was something about how they shone under the moonlight that sent shivers down her spin. Isagani waited for her in the veranda, looking intently at her while sipping his scotch. The cold night breeze blew and touched his skin, gently caressing his body over his plain white shirt.
"Come on, don't be afraid." He assured. "This is the way you should know the people here, not these husks that we hide in." He pointed at his body.
She stood up and finally followed him to the veranda. The cold air made her skin prickle, she rubbed her hands together to get some badly needed warmth. Isagani moved further to the edge of the veranda and gestured her to come closer to him. She followed him, albeit fearing what she might see when she got there.
