Apollo had swung his bokken without hesitation, straight towards Ivy's neck.
And for nearly the entire time, there was not a single part of him that questioned it.
Yet, when he saw the bokken just millimeters away, a strange feeling swelled up in his heart. Yet, before he could give in to that strange feeling, a near black piece of stone formed on Ivy's neck. It was incredibly thin, to the point that if it was shifted up or down one centimeter, it wouldn't even slightly block Apollo's bokken.
Though he noticed this, it was already too late to change anything.
A thunderous bang ensued.
Apollo's wrist twisted violently, spinning around like a screw. He was then thrown backwards, slamming down onto the floor hard, sending out devastating cracks within the cobblestone road.
Apollo's eyes were wide open as he coughed out a mouthful of blood.
He was so sure he had her, and was thus surprised by the turn of events.
