Chapter 75 - Aristocratic households

Eleven solid and round towers are both a defensive and decoration aspect of this elegant castle and are connected by big, concrete walls made of light grey stone. Dull windows are scattered generously around the walls in fairly symmetrical patterns, along with same-sized holes for archers and artillery. This castle is relatively new, but so far, it has stood its ground with ease, and it'll likely do so for ages to come.

Inside the tower castle, a man could be seen with dissolved messy hair and sweat that rains as if the heat of the summer this year is hotter than the last—shouting and pointing to the chaotic scene that beheld this moment.

Maid and servants alike could be seen running back and forth. Some could be seen cleaning leather armors and swords with brewed oil even though their primary profession is catering to the needs of the Lord of the city. Moving cleaning instruments and pails, some are carrying Lavander blossoms with a strong scent to the front of the big gated entrance, decorating it with a garden theme. The head Stewart stance is imposing on those around. The fear of mismanaging and covering the dead body would also bring about a great deal of trouble if some individuals uncovered the incident today.

Especially those of the noble circle,

The presence of servants of noble birth imposed a social hierarchy on the household that went parallel to the order dictated by the position of medieval times.

This second hierarchy had at its top the Stewart. He had the overriding responsibility for the household duties' domestic affairs and the household's noble, mainly the Lord of the house.

Taking care of the personal wellbeing of the Lord and his family if Alden had any. From the living quarters and the master's wardrobe, everything within the castle is his responsibility to ensure the flaw and the Lord's reputation is kept or grows as the Lord's wishes.

Equal authority to the steward was the marshal. This authority had the militarily vital responsibility for the stables and horses of the household and was also in charge of disciplining the soldiers. The marshal, Byron, and other higher-ranking servants would have assisted in helping the Stewarts Lucas perform their tasks during an emergency such as today.

Yet the man whose appearance resembles an overworked laborer had a delighted expression on his weary face.

[what is he happy about]

Up above the rooftop of the tower castle, Alden watches his aristocratic households fall into chaos and begin to get confused. He merely ordered Lucas to clean the mess up that he made, but it seems the Stewarts became too happy to do the job.

[Did something happen while I was gone?]

Then Alden thought maybe that was how the world work in this world. Nobles that place great importance on their servants could mean many things. Even in Earth's medieval times, servants were replaceable, yes! But they are also irreplaceable at the same time.

While watching everyone putting in work, Alden became bored, and his mind started to drift off to the word of the demon named Leon when he confessed.

"I had two tasks to complete."

"I was ordered to place the son of Duke Mason Van Farrow, Alden Van Farrow, under the servitude of sir Jacob Windsler."

"This dagger act as proof of our client."

"It may look sharp, but only a prick or a cut is enough to place the incantation."

"The church only paid us to observe any abnormalities within the castle."

"The church wished to know about the incident five days ago the connection between the abnormalities that came with it."

"The abnormalities is you."

"They knew everything about Alden Van farrow, but they do not know you."

"They wanted to know whether you are connected with Alden Van Farrow."

[One wanted to brainwash me]

[And one wanted to know about me and my powers]

Jacob Windsler placed 5,000 gold on his head to be brainwashed. Seriously 5,000 gold is low compared to a routine assassination mission. Alden felt funny after finding this out; He did not know whether to laugh or cry. Maybe that's why after all the information he had obtained from the demon named Leon, he suddenly decided that the grotesque goat-like creature should not live due to the 5,000 gold hogwash.

But after thinking deeply while he sat on the roof of the tower castle. Staring at the night sky, he suddenly realized maybe 5,000 gold is a lot of money. 5,000gold is like a starter kit for any merchant to begin a life of trade. For a mere peasant to be granted 5,000 gold is enough to live for five generations and ongoing.

Then having those thoughts run through his head, Alden began to feel better about himself; stroking his ego a little bit, Alden put his hand on his chin and spoke.

'But the church is the main trouble now."

[Theyre moving way too quick]

It is true, Even the king of Adan is not that fast at responding to that incident. To where the king is, Alden does not know, but he does know that he's watching Alden or waiting for Alden to do something so he can leap towards it and offer something enticing that would forever bind Alden to this country.

With Alden's modern world way of thinking, He wants to make sure that what he does from now on would not bring about a great deal of trouble—looking down on the people in the middle of the night covering his mistakes is a good example.

Alden is no lord back on Earth, but he read enough to know enough. And to know enough is not enough to act it out. Killing whenever he wished would one day backstab him terribly.

Then with a ting. Alden had an idea.

[Maybe I should let someone else do it for me,]

'hmmmmm' Alden sounded; he moved his eyes towards the man that was now sitting on a chair while still commanding the servants of the household.

[Lucas is way too busy and too organized]

[his a fallower and not daring enough]

Then his eyes moved outside towards the noble markets, where the bright torch lights that stretched on each of the streets, eliminating it with life and laughter, Alden senses could almost hear that. His eyes squinted and zooming.

[Jacob is already on my death list, So I can't use him]

[His good aspect is about his connection with the Duke and people from the capital]

Alden began to scratch his head and was annoyed about losing a good merchant soon.

[Sambor on their hand seems to be the only fitting canidate]

[Daring enough to insult me directly but not enough to impose my statue]

[fearful enough to do the job without questions]

[lack of connection but ambitious enough to make one]

[Has a competitive nature and has the strength to prove it]

'hmmm'

Then Alden got up, dusted himself off, board of observing the chaotic show below, and spoke.

'Alright'

'Sambor is the one.'
