Chapter 27 - Personal maid

As he vanished, Gwen who still shivering from the humanoid shadow last word, opening her eyes. Looking around the once humble tavern, to now slaughterhouse. She began to think while caressing her neck that now had a red mark on them. She would be wrong if Gwen did not think about running away as soon as she almost chocked to death by the humanoid shadow abrupt impulse. This scared Gwen's soul.

She as fire mage has completely given up on struggling and saw her life ending, yet after being released from the grim reaper hands, instead of learning from her lesson, instead of having the same thought as Lukas. Gwen eyes flickered with rage.

She got up from the cold wooden floor of the tavern, looked at Lukas who is now laying in his own filths. She uttered.

"useless"

Where has her respect for these men gone? Gwen who is lower in status then the men who's rolling in his own love juice, she thought differently about the situation, even though she saw her death near, she did not give up. In fact, she was motivated to get back at that Humanoid shadow for today's embarrassment.

Walking past Lukas, ignoring him. she preceded to walk to the dead Byron, taking his sword and the insignia crest. Taking whatever coins that's left, doing the same for the other, Watt.

After her robbing of the dea…cough, I mean, taking it for further investigation. Gwen walks to the back door of the tavern. She opened it and headed to look around cautiously before proceeding to walk silently in the dark alley behind the tavern.

Little did she know, as soon as she started her action, Gwen was being watch. All her action was already been known. After exiting the taverns back door, up above, there lays another shadow creature. Different to the one she witnessed massacring her comrades, this one seems a lot skinnier. Yes, this different shadow creature is Lox.

Before the full confrontation, Alden had shadow Lox wait for anyone who tried to escape, giving shadow Lox a simple order. Should anyone leave the tavern without his permission shadow Lox may eat them but witnessing Gwen action. Alden changed his mind. Therefor, shadow Lox stealthy fallowed Gwen.

Up above 1.5km away from the tavern, Alden had just appeared above a roof of a random house. And after closing his eyes, he whispered into the night

~in my eyes to your eyes~

~in my mind to your mind~

~Shadow Loxxxxx~ like slithering snack he ended. Then with a

*WOSHHHHHHHHHHHH* Alden perception extended towards the roof of the tavern, where shadow lox was watching, suddenly shadow lox body shock in less then a second and with that strange movement, shadow Lox complete standing change to one who did not look like a mindless creature.

It watched everything that Gwen had just done.

[Lox, fallows her, see where she is headed]

[inform me of everything]

[should you come into trouble, I will resummon you back to Summer city] Then he whispered again

~HMPH~

[You think I don't know your story Gwen]

[for someone with your background, it would not be hard to figure out your arrogant personality] he thought.

After spending so many years with Gwen at the tower castle, the deceased Alden has always had the feeling that Gwen is not just his personal maid, she would do strange things sometimes. Forget about treating him terribly or thrashing him.

No, Gwen would do inconspicuous things, sometimes leaving the tower and heads to the forest, south to the city and would come back three sometimes four hours. The deceased Alden would even notice that Gwen would come inside his personal library, Mean I remind you, that only nobles are allowed inside.

She would precede to say,

"It is my right as a personal maid of a noble, to clean and make proper inquiry of her master wellbeing and his belonging"

Then she would throw him out and spend hours inside the library, looking for what, Alden did not know, until he found a crumbled latter that was not yet finished, inside the later read.
