After the heir left, the current sect masters old face turned serious. "We have suffered many losses this time to our reconnaissance teams and it seems we have lost too many promising disciples and elders within the northern parts of the Central Lands. Not only that but we may have also lost many supplies of Unrestrained blood this time, I do not know how this will affect my dead disciples growth this time. Still.. I wonder who is behind this to be able to deal such a damaging blow to the sect and at just the right time as if they had known all of the actions that we would take. We may have found ourselves a scary opponent this time. Someone capable of turning our own people against us and spying within or they know us too well and were able to make predictions from what they knew."
He calmed himself down and began to relax within the blood pool. "My disciple needs to break through even if he does so with what has been confirmed to be gathered. We will send more of our elites to meet the teams to ensure it is all delivered. Even if the risk of exposing ourselves is greater, we cannot afford to lose what we have gained and risk delaying his breakthrough. Once he has reached the Mystic realm the sect will have two Mystic Realm martial artists and will be able to contend with our enemies."
In his mind, it was most advantageous tactically to place the young heir as the leader of the sect who had more energy than the current him.
He could let him take on the difficulties and order him from behind the scenes and only appear when the sect encountered a major difficulty that the heir could not handle alone.
He could retreat behind the scenes and focus on his training further so that he could become the sects trump card or last resort.
Anyone that wished to enter a war with them would have to think twice when confronted with not just one youthful Mystic Realm but also an old Mystic Realm that was full of experience and wisdom.
However his disciple did not know his tactical plans and would not care because he was someone that disliked being underneath others for his whole life.
Even waiting until his master dies just so he could inherit the sect fully was far too long for him, even at the cost of weakening the sect and losing an experienced strategist.
During his reign as the sect leader, even when he had become old and grey, he still had not given up his position to others or passed on his martial arts to others.
He was obsessed with immortality and crazily pursued the higher realm above the Mystic Realm but before his lifespan reached its end or he had found a way to breakthrough, he had been poisoned to death by Ki leaving behind nobody to inherit his martial arts but herself and Rashida in this life.
Many teams were quickly dispatched to investigate the bases in the north along with the situation of each of the capture targets and following that some groups were sent to handle the transportation of the blood that had been collected from other locations.
Within the sect even if the information was contained, there were still some survivors that had told what they had witnessed and that evolved to many speculations and rumours that made many have conflicts with others from other factions or groups.
Doubts and mistrust spread very quickly and even if the sect leader and the had managed to handle everything effectively, there would still be internal problems within their sect that could not be maintained.
When the recon teams returned with their findings and it was spread out that the bodies had been drained of blood and many had died from poison or a weapon, they were filled with even more doubt and mistrust towards their fellow members and elders who may be working with outsiders.
Even those fearful to be accused themselves spoke up and pointed their fingers to others who were also innocent, just so that they could avoid being investigated and having their own wrongdoings within the sect exposed to everyone.
While the sect leader and heir were busy dealing with the heirs preparations and the external parts of the sect, the internal structure was being divided and many conflicts and finger pointing took place resulting in further damage.
Just as all of this was happening, the heir stepped into secluded cultivation to complete his breakthrough to the Mystic Realm.
After much preparation, he attempted to enter the Mystic Realm but found himself unable to remain calm because of the failures and the anger that he had been suppressing in his heart.
This resulted in him not being in the best state of mind and not having enough concentration to allow his breakthrough resulting in a failure.
The master looked at his students haggard appearance after he left his seclusion and sighed. "Go calm your mind, vent your anger if that will help you release whatever is stopping your ascension."
The heir had slightly bloodshot eyes as if he was about to burst but lowered his head looking ashamed. "Yes master."
After he left, the master stood watching his departure and sighed. "He may be very talented but he is still too impatient and affected by his emotions. It seems that this loss has created a shadow in his heart that will be difficult to overcome."
His student had not suffered many setbacks since he had been appointed as an heir, his progression was fast, people in the sect had no choice but to follow him and he rarely encountered any failures and was someone who usually profited while others suffered losses and misfortunes.
However this time, it seems as if his student had met his match somewhere in the world that had damaged his pride and affected his state of mind in this targeted attack from within or outside of the sect.
He just hoped that his student could spend some time to vent out his emotions even if it did cost some lives.
In his mind the loss of a couple of third rate to first rate martial artists were nothing compared to gaining another Mystic Realm so even if his student's anger is released on those around him, he would accept the outcome and expect him to go back into seclusion afterwards.
Whether he would succeed was unknown but eventually there would be a time when he would achieve a breakthrough.
This was the sect leader's confidence that he had in his student and heir.
