Once again, Ki had readied herself to leave the land and people that she cherished under the care of her most loyal subordinates.
Everything had been prepared smoothly to allow her to be worry free while she completes her own task.
Ki prepared everything in order to not leave any flaws.
As she helped place the armour on her horse Raven and prepared everything for her journey.
As she reached the gates of the mansion, she looked back at the worried eyes of her mother and father and then waved farewell.
Upon reaching the outside of the village, she was greeted by several other masked and black cloaked individuals.
Some of them were on horses while the others were sitting on the front of a funeral horse drawn carriage that had been securely built so that nothing inside could be seen from outside of it.
Inside of it was a large coffin that seemed as if it had enough space to carry several dead bodies within if cramped together.
One person appeared before her who had hidden their appearance but Ki recognised who it was right away. "Rashida, this will be a dangerous task this time and must be handled with the upmost secrecy. I have prepared everything for our cover this time to avoid suspicion while on the road."
Rashida calmly listened and then asked. "What about the enemies that we will face? Should we be worries?"
Ki shook her head and said. "I do not think so… however it would be wrong to underestimate the enemy and suffer as a result of it. This is why I had arranged for you, number one, two, three, four and five to accompany me."
Rashida nodded. "I understand. Which is the first destination?"
Ki responded after thinking. "We need to save as many lives as possible while disrupting their plans and destroying their strongholds. This will be difficult to do unless we have enough luck and information to go on. Luckily we have the information so we have some way to guess where to go first. We can allow the enemy to succeed in their task and head to their hiding place but we cannot allow the deaths of so many Unrestrained Realm martial artists. These people have their own individual value."
Rashida bowed respectfully. "Where to first?"
Ki handed a document with some information on it to her. "This will be our first target to watch and track. The people around them have shown signs of acting sooner than the others."
Many people were living their ordinary lives, gaining power, influence and wealth but after the flood many were simply trying to survive until everything was over.
During this time, many were distracted more than ever and were vulnerable to attack and especially from those around them.
Marilyn had placed spies in each household or organisation and had them drop some information from time to time and not display any suspicious movements while they are there.
After watching the other employees or the leaders close friends or family, some signs began to show for those who were looking more closely and could notice them.
Signs of betrayal, ambition beyond its limits, feelings of guilt and greed were easy to spot on a person when they thought nobody was watching them.
After being tempted with the chance to become the new leader, obtain wealth or even status, they all fell for the sweet words and small benefits that had been given and walked down on a path towards betraying their own brother in arms, sibling, distant relative or employer.
While all of this was going on, a Gu worm had been placed into every targets food or drink at an opportune time to allow Ki's plan to have another backup.
All that was left for her to wait for the time when they would contact the Blood Sect people and begin with the plan.
The Blood Sect had to of at least deployed some of their peak realm or Transcendent Realm martial artists to handle such a thing but perhaps even some of their Unrestrained Realm to oversee the operation seeing as it was at the request of the sect leader for his heir to complete his breakthrough.
Even if they did send out their most powerful people, it still did not matter because they had been split up to different locations and not focussed in one place.
Instead of targeting places that she knows are used as hiding places or strongholds for the Blood Sect and having them suspicious of leaks, she intended to only target those that had those captives within so that the reason for those attacks would be that their plan had either been exposed or they had been tracked after the people had been captured.
Either a similar group to them with a similar goal or someone within their sect was making a move to obtain more power while undermining the sect leader and his heir.
This was a direct challenge to their position and suspicion would fall upon many within the sect.
The heir is an especially careful and untrusting person so he would take this failure as an inside job and a direct challenge to his rising to the position as sect leader.
Many he finds suspicious would be put under heavy watch or pressure from his own forces or even eliminated if he became angered enough.
Ki knew him very well as she was someone who had served by his side for so long and was finally able to gain a small amount of trust after faithfully carrying out every order he had asked to complete no matter how cruel or wrong it was.
More than forty years was more than enough to make him lessen his guard and become someone worthy enough to become trusted to handle various affairs on her own without needing to ask for his every opinion.
As he was getting older his distrust towards the younger generation grew more and more as if he soon saw himself being replaced by the new blood within the sect but as his attention was focussed elsewhere, Ki was able to use this chance to poison his body while his suspicions and watchful gaze were primarily on others and not on herself.
Ki and the group continued through the arranged path that hard been prepared after much investigation and planning of the routes to be taken to avoid the carriage from becoming stuck or additional problems from coming up.
Their small group had taken up the role of a families guards or a group of mercenaries handling the transportation of the bodies of the dead towards the ancestral burial grounds.
This gave them enough reason to be travelling during this time when things are so chaotic but also provide enough cover for their true actions.
Some small groups of people came across her carriage and had greed towards what was inside of the coffin but were quickly dealt with by herself, Rashida and the numbered five members of the Blood Shadow Group.
It only took a short time to arrive near closest city that had been set thanks to not carrying many things with them this time and being able to travel faster.
Before arriving at the city, the carriage and horses went off the road and entered the forest where they set up a small temporary campsite to allow themselves to rest up but also wait until they could put into motion their plans.
