After Ki and the Blood Shadow group left the Northern Warlord Sect, the next day began and many reforms took place.
The sect leader announced that traitors were among them and that they had been dealt with.
He also told many of them that the sect would undergo some changes and begin working with the outside world a little more to earn more resources and build up their power once again.
The idea that better food, clothing, weapons and training materials were going to be available to them if they accepted that plan was very tempting to most who had barely got anything from the passing merchants and groups passing through the border.
Now they had a chance to take on missions within the sect and earn points so that they could get their own share of what was earned rather than fighting over the scraps that were left over.
If they worked hard then maybe their employers may even be generous and give them something extra on the side.
Many were tired of fighting among themselves for scraps and knew that all the elders and high ranking people in the sect who had disappeared were greedy and kept all of the good stuff to themselves but also pushed them on the frontlines of war time and time again so they readily accepted this change and reform.
Although a small group of them were still unsatisfied with the changes and craved more war and looting that they were used to, they did not have a loud enough voice to say no to it and change everyone else's mind.
The sect leader mentioned that not only would this help secure their place at the border but in the future once they had rebuilt themselves they may have the chance to integrate with the Central Lands.
If such a thing happened then all of their lives would change for the better and if they are seen as more than warmongers then the process would be made to be easier.
In the previous life of Ki they were on a path of self destruction which hurt many others in the north but now with a new goal they may have a chance to change their fate.
Meanwhile back at the Bombyx family mansion within the private research room, many dead bodies were lined up on many tables.
Each of them were the muscular bodies of the Northern Warlord Sects best fighters that had been dubbed as traitors.
Many of the bodies on the table were the ones that were in the best condition or belonged to the Unrestrained or Transcendent martial artists.
At the end of the tables, Ki was finishing stitching up the wound left on the last body and took out several vials with different names or numbers on them.
During the last few years as the Blood Shadow group began to gain Gu mystical arts, they had been learning how to nurture their own Gu Worms.
Among the Gu Worms they had nurtured she kept a certain couple of special ones in her research or secret room so that nobody can gain access to them.
She walked by the body of the peak Unrestrained realm martial artist and took out the vial with Rashida's name on it.
As it opened, the small worm left the vial and crawled into the ear and burrowed deep until it disappeared.
The body began to twitch uncontrollably for a while before laying quietly on the table once again.
After confirming that it had been completed, she moved onto the next body and took out a vial with the number 1 on it and completed the same process many times on the remaining bodies.
Finishing her work, she pushed each table closer towards the wall where several containers were and opened them one by one.
The containers contained the same mixture as Ki had been using for her own corpse puppet and Ki slowly pushed their bodies into each large container from the tables before sealing the container once more.
After completing her task, she cleaned the desk thoroughly and then stood back in contemplation. "The martial arts of the Northern Warlord Sect seem to be quite good and helps to develop a strong and durable body. From inspection their bodies have been building up resistance to the elements but also through combat and physical exercise their bodies have been toughened up the more they are faced with pain and pushing past their limits. Although it does not display a characteristic that would be close to one of the natural elements."
As a non attribute martial art, it seemed to be a masochist type of martial art that builds up the bodies resistances and toughness a little at a time.
Although it does not have the toughness at the level of the diamond, devil or blood Buddha body tempering arts it's uniqueness seemed to be that when exposed to other things like cold, heat, poison and other things the body is able to build up its resistance the more they are exposed to it.
This was just her guess about the remotes surrounding the sect but also after inspecting their bodies she was able to identify that their bodies had built up cold resistance after living in the north all of their lives and practicing the body tempering art of their sect.
It was a little similar to how she was approaching her noxious arts, she was slowly building up her resistances to poison, allergies and anything else that would bring harm to her body.
Her Blood Buddha arts body tempering also required a similar way of building up the body by toughening up the skin through combat, tearing and repairing the muscles and then using the vitality to repair and strengthen them before moving onto the next stage which is the bones.
A lot of body arts have many similarities that focus on breaking the body down and building it back up which follows the philosophy of destruction and creation but is used in moderation at first and slowly increased as the body grows used to it.
Now that she had collected their bodies and inspected them before putting them into the body tempering bath recipe, she believed that they would later become strong and tough corpse puppets that would be powerful weapons to be used in a time of crisis just like her own.
