In fact before she had even sent out the letter for Marilyn to arrive she had already made several plans and put them into actions so that she could travel without revealing her identity.
She had prepared the masks and outfits, the horses and carriages but also the mercenary groups identify through various channels in case of being questioned for their purpose of travelling as a large and armed group.
Technically the group did not exist and could not be found to be connected to her but through various loopholes, connections and bribes through Marilyn's connections she was able to establish the groups fake identity and get the identification for their role of protecting transported goods or people as contracted mercenaries.
While some mercenary groups do not need to have their own identification on them at all times they do need to register with any entry point at the gates to enter a city or pass a major territories entry point.
Since she would not enter any city in between her travels she did not even need any documentation to prove their identity or their reason for travelling in a large number but just in case of accidents she bought several identification documents for many mercenary groups that had either gone missing or were disbanding in case of emergencies or if one of the identities was exposed and their name was dangerously closely linked to a major event.
She needed to be prepared to abandon an identity at any time if it brought danger to herself and take up a new one during her next journey.
By the horse and carriage Lumi stood in a similar disguise that hid away her ice cold beauty, her body and long silver white hair beneath her cloak and mask.
She stood with a sword at her waist that looked very thin and sharp and a small white fox followed behind her footsteps before jumping up into her arms.
As if sensing it's thoughts and emotions Lumi raised her arms to catch it and began to lightly stroke its head.
Unlike her previous lifeless gaze she had looked towards the fox with a little more curiosity and concentration than what she had towards other things in the past.
Although her emotions were removed this did not stop her from developing a curiosity towards things and learning new things while forming relationships.
Thanks to the orders given by Ki, she may not have fully opened up completely like a normal person but she had improved a lot during her stay within the mansion.
Her contract with her fox helped to feel or sense her beasts emotions so her bond was closer to her fox than others but that did not mean she had not attempted to open up to others more and act on her own a little.
Ki was the closest person to her at present besides the fox because of the time she had spent training with Lumi and teaching her various things.
While Lumi had continued to improve her sword forms that were of the ice and water nature, she had also learned how to use throwing needles after Ki had taught her.
Lumi stepped inside of one of the carriages quietly without receiving any orders after she looked towards Ki who was seated on top of Raven.
Meanwhile everyone went to their positions of either riding a horse, sitting inside the carriage or outside of the carriage while holding the reigns of the horses.
Ki raised her hand to the air as she saw everyone in position and spoke in a slightly hoarse voice. "Move out!"
A little further down the road the horses stopped upon seeing a cloaked figure that was dressed in a similar manner.
The figure had a thin and long rapier and dagger of a similar shape sheathed at her waist and her light blonde medium length hair was shown through the hood of her cloak which helped to identify her.
Over the years working under Ki, Marilyn had gained some weight and grew a lot taller the more she had matured and progressed with her martial arts.
If the figure, face or aura of Ki's subordinates was to be described then Lumi would be described as pure but cold, Rashida would be charming but aggressive while Marilyn would be described as a heroic beauty.
While she was not able to match up to most noble lady's beauty she still had a unique charm of her own that made people want to rely on and trust her.
Ki stopped her horse by the side of Marilyn and spoke. "I haven't seen you in a couple of months so you must of been busy."
Marilyn shrugged lazily. "Not at all. Just keeping the gangs and mercenaries under me under control and dealing with any other small things. I've just been focussed on training the most so I can find a way to catch up to those geniuses within the sects you told me about."
Ki smirked and then pointed towards a carriage that Lumi had entered. "Go and join Lumi. We have many days worth of travel before we reach our destination and we need to rest up during the night or stop to eat and drink so this journey may be a long one so you can sit there in comfort."
Marilyn frowned and then asked. "Then what about you?"
Ki spoke calmly as she stared down at her from her horse. "I prefer to stay where I can see my surroundings better and keep a lookout."
Marilyn seemed to have understood her intentions and then nodded. "I will take this chance to rest up then."
Marilyn entered the carriage and waved to Lumi who was seated alone. "Hey, long time no see!"
Lumi lifted her eyes from her fox alertly as the carriages door opened and then saw the masked figure.
She examined that the figure was not showing hostility so responded with a cold nod before turning her attention to her fox once again.
Marilyn smiled seeming amused and spoke again. "It seems you still don't recognise me…"
She removed her mask as she entered and sat down after closing the door. "Recognise me now?"
Lumi looked up again and examined her face and then nodded once more and spoke in a cold voice devoid of any emotions. "Yes. What do you want?"
Marilyn sighed upon receiving the cold reply but she seemed used to it. "We will be sharing the carriage during the journey so be sure to look out for me. I will protect your back if anything happens so you don't have to worry about anything."
Lumi listened to her calmly and coldly replied with a short. "Hm."
She then turned her attention back to the white fox seated on her lap once more.
Marilyn's eyes did not show any signs of being annoyed by her response and sat back in her seat as she raised her arms to place them behind the back of her head to begin resting with her eyes closed. 'Well.. at least she is acknowledging my presence now. If it was months ago then I wouldn't even receive a nod in response."
After the door closed the carriages and horses continued on their journey towards the destination Ki had marked on the map.
Ki rode her horse alongside the middle carriage to provide her the best place to strategically see everything in her surroundings while also maintaining her role as the mercenary or guard leader.
Although her horse was more finely decorated and better protected than the others and she was carrying lots of items to increase her lethality, her small build led others to believe that she wasn't the strongest within the group since she was not on the outer parts of the formation.
