Chapter 90 - Revival plan 1

Not long after the deaths of those within the underground dungeon the bodies of the deceased were brought up and placed in a pile of wood and flammable items in the middle of the village.

As soon as the action was taken the Bombyx family gathered in the same location surrounded by guards and Isaac stepped forward to address the villagers. "Today is the day of the deaths of the criminals and traitors who invaded the village and disrupted everyone's peaceful daily lives. I would like it if everyone could take this time to mourn the dead, those innocent that suffered during the invasion will be given proper burials and will not be burned like these people. So I would ask that we take around 60 seconds of silence to think pay tribute to the dead and think about how our peaceful village suddenly became as it is now. We will begin now."

Some of the villagers had a guilty look in the eyes while the rest had a sad look on their faces.

Nobody dared to speak up or break the minute of silence after hearing Isaacs words and bowed their heads.

Soon followed was Isaacs signal and the bodies were set on fire, the smoke began to rise up into the sky as the bodies burned and slowly turned to ash.

Isaac stepped forward after the minutes silence once more and began to make another speech. "Your daily lives have been disrupted, your family business is also behind because of the sudden invasion, you may have even lost family members to the invaders or traitors. For this we apologise and we have an idea on who the culprits are and they will be punished for their actions just as these people have paid with their lives. Those who wish to stay within the village are more than welcome to stay and you will need to receive a form of compensation or a delay on your due payments or trading goods so you can get back to your daily lives."

Some of the villagers displayed their relief that they would be given some time to get their household affairs back in order while some looked towards Isaac waiting for the next part of his speech.

Isaac spoke up once more with a calm tone of voice. "As for those of you who wish to take your chances in another village or city that may be safer or provide more opportunities you will receive sufficient payment for your homes, your farmland and anything you cannot bring with you. We will also provide you with a carriage so you can leave safely. Just so I can get a head count can those who wish to stay stand to the left and those who wish to leave stand to the left side please."

Soon many of the villages silently went to their own decided position, surprisingly most of the villagers who had fled early or lost a family member decided to stay within the village but there was a couple of families and people who wished to leave.

Some of the families did have a small division on who wished to stay and who wished to leave which caused a little awkwardness within the village.

One of them was a small boy who had previously witnessed the murderer of his friend hiding the body. "I wish to stay!"

His father looked very cowardly but facing his son he frowned as he pointed towards his nose. "You cannot stay, it's too dangerous here now. We need to go somewhere we can live better lives. Do not be selfish."

The man was the man who hid inside his house during the invasion while his son made efforts to help the others escape the village during the invasion.

He was very cowardly and the moment the two options were given by Isaac and the Bombyx family he used it as a chance to go to the city where the law is more controlled and it should be safer for him and his son.

The son however turned his head away from his father. "I want to stay even if you want to go. You pretty much abandoned me back during the invasion anyways and prioritised yourself over others. While you were looking out for yourself my future wife was being killed and yet all you could do was say to ignore it all and don't look into any of it."

The father couldn't speak and looked down at the floor. "I..I.. what could I do?"

The other villagers who had divisions began to argue but then Isaac stepped up again. "Those who are still undecided may be given more time to make a decision but those who are wishing to leave please follow me and we will begin with the paperwork and I will make preparations for your moving out of the village. You all should have a week to prepare everything before you can leave and make preparations to purchase a new home to move into elsewhere."

The small crowd began follow Isaac and after they had left Adam stepped up as he turned to look at his daughter who gave him a wink to signal him to begin. "Ahem.. as you are all aware, there are many issues with the village that could put the village and its people in danger because of poor handling and other issues. So in the coming weeks and months we will begin to take steps to implement several projects to fix these problems that may happen again. One of them would be maintaining order within the village, rather than having a village head to manage disputes like the past the Bombyx family will be slowly building a system of laws for the village to help settle disputes and to stop crimes from being committed against yourself or others. We wish for this to be built to protect the peace within the village and be a place to voice your concerns and not for this to be a place for someone to abuse their power with."

Adam stepped back and Elizabeth stepped forward. "Some people may have been made orphans during the invasion or lost a member of their family. There is nothing we can do to make up for your losses however the Bombyx family will soon be using the buildings that have been bought back or the ones previously owned by the criminals to fill in the space that is unused for different purposes."

Elizabeth waves her hand while pointing towards Ki by her side and then patted her head lovingly. "My daughter has brought forward several projects which will be useful for the development of your lives and the village. The village heads home will be transformed into a public library, within this library will be books on different subjects to help you all to pick up new knowledge for specific professions. Once you have become knowledgable enough there may be chances to earn yourselves a working position within the Bombyx family businesses. One of the homes will also be transformed into an orphanage for those who have been left without parents or a form of support, children and adults may attend the literature and mathematics lessons which will be taught weekly by an assigned teacher. This will help those who are behind on their ability to read, write or how to use numbers in their daily lives. My daughter hopes that you all can enrich your lives and look towards a new future and opportunities."

Some of the children began to look excited upon hearing the words of Elizabeth, after all they rarely encountered proper teaching besides what they learned at home from their parents so naturally it was their chance to make their childhood dreams come true.

The boy still dismissed his father and raised his hand.

Elizabeth smiled and looked in his direction. "What would you like to know?"

The boy looked hesitant but clenched his teeth and began to question the plan. "If that is so and we can learn… then is there ever a hope that I could enter the law part of your plans?"
