The next day the old man headed out on a journey scanning any local businesses within the city he first arrived at.
His eyes peered into the fate of the buildings along with the people entering and exiting.
Strings of fate connected passed by each other while other began to tangle with each other for various reasons.
He finally laid eyes upon a newly built orphanage building and smiled. "This place has the highest connections to the Bombyx family."
He carried a small box full of packaged books and scrolls and began to enter the orphanage.
He scanned the people as he entered and shook his head. 'These people will not do… the probability of achieving the results I wish are not high enough.'
He walked towards the front desk and asked the old lady sitting there. "Can you call out your manager or boss out please. It is urgent and I am in need of their assistance as fast as possible."
The old lady looked at him and saw that the old man seemed to be friendly and harmless so she responded. "The boss just happens to be free right now so I can ask but could I ask what this is about?"
The old man replied. "I need something delivered to the family behind the orphanage. They are old friends so I need someone trustworthy that will deliver my package to them without delay or failure."
The old lady nodded and left to meet the boss, the old man waited patiently with the box on his lap.
Soon the old lady returned and pointed towards the door. "You may go in and meet the boss."
The old man smiled gratefully and passed by her entering the room behind.
He followed the corridor and arrived at the the room of the boss and knocked on the door.
"Come on in." A mature voice came from inside the room, the old man opened the door and then entered.
He saw a string of probability and looked towards the man and the box, he made some calculations in his mind and then looked up and smiled again. 'I came to the right place. The box will arrive in the right hands as predicted.'
The man spoke up as he sat back him his chair after placing some papers to the side of his desk showing he had been interrupted during catching up on his reports and paperwork. "What have you come to request then?"
"I need to have this box delivered to the Bombyx family that is behind starting up and funding the orphanage." The old man added. "Don't worry though I will make a donation towards the orphanage for your efforts of transporting the box into their hands. I would never ask you to do this without payment after all."
The man thought for a moment and then nodded agreeing with the old mans words. "It's something we can do but what is your connection with the Bombyx family so we know who the box is from when it arrives."
"I am probably due to pass on soon and I am the godfather of the family heads daughter Ki Bombyx. I just wished to pass on a few books and such to help her study." The old man revealed a longing look in his eyes as he thought about his god daughter but he quietly reminded himself. 'I cannot meet her or I will bring my trouble along with me.'
Upon hearing the name of their master, the mans eyes changed and became respectful towards the old man. "I will complete the task immediately sir. Is there anything more that you need?"
The old man smiled and waved his hand as if dismissing being catered to and removed an envelope full of paper money and placed it on the desk. "No need, I will be off. Here is my donation. Farewell and tell my goddaughter I hope she finds joy in her life."
The old man left the orphanage and turned back once more to look at the fate of the orphanage. 'I see that she has a lot of good karma coming her way for her good deeds of setting up the orphanage. Although it is small… she is slowly changing the lives of others and improving their well-being giving themselves a chance to grow. Even my work with medicine and saving lives helped to provide good karma in a similar way. This good karma will help her to overcome some struggles one day."
The flow of good karma and the fates of the orphanage were tied together neatly and nurtured each other but soon it began to leak out as if connected to several strings.
The flow of the fate and karma went along these strings and headed towards near the northern border within the central lands where the Bombyx family are located.
"I made a wise decision… little Ki I hope I can be of help to you once I am gone." The old man smiled as a picture was displayed in his memories as if it had been something very important.
The newly born baby during its first moments upon taking her first breathe…
The baby girls cries and cute giggling sounds…
The first time she reached to clutch her small hands around his finger…
The first time she responded to the name he gave her…
The fact that her mother was fated to die along with the child during the childbirth…
The fate that lead him to the village at that time as if it was part of his destiny to save the mother and child.
The Bombyx families good karma attracted him as if leading him towards the family just like the heavens had willed it and let him be the one to save them both.
Although he left the family and child behind and continued his journey he never forgot his experience and his gains during that time. "Fate led me to that village specifically to help them safely give birth. There was nobody as skilled as myself that would have been able to help overcome that situation and yet a one in a million chance, small odds and probability was overturned by their good karma they had built up as honest merchants for many years. That is what we call a miracle. It's as if the child refused her fate and the heavens responded to her wish to live on. Now she has changed her fate once again. Another miracle."
The old man smiled as he walked into the crowded streets of the city before disappearing into the crowd before leaving the city.
