Chapter 20 - 3 months later

Bombyx family mansion, 3 months later

Under a tree stood 3 children between the ages 4 and 7, the eldest girl had blue grey eyes, light brown long wavy hair paired together with cute facial features and a petite body dressed in powder blue martial clothing.

Her clothing which was sleeveless and fit her body perfectly allowed others to notice her change over the 3 months of training.

Ki had grown a little taller and put on a little more weight as her body was becoming a little more curvy than her previous thin figure, her arms that had not been covered by her clothing had begun to gain more firmness and become well defined.

Beside her sat Leon who was very similar in appearance but a little more masculine and smaller in size than Ki, he sat on the ground panting after a long period of exercise and training.

The other girl was around the same age as Leon but a little smaller with a weaker body, black hair, green eyes with sickly pale skin paired with endearing facial features which would cause others to feel pity for her and wish to pamper her.

The young girl was the daughter of the maid Miranda Valerie who currently attends to most of Ki's daily needs.

The young daughter joined her mother in changing her surname and was named Evie Valerie after her mother began to make divorce preparations so they both took on her previous family name.

Ki looked at both of them sitting down looking extra pitiful and spoke ruthlessly. "One more time and I will let you both off. Evie you need to focus more on avoiding attacks and landing smaller hits on the enemies joints rather than facing them head on since you have a weaker physique. Leon you need to be able to keep your balance better when you strike, if you go off balance even a little someone could use that against you to make you fall to the ground."

During the 3 months Ki had been diligently training, working on different projects and taught Leon some basics martial arts.

Later into the first month Agnes introduced Miranda's daughter to Ki and said that she would be taking up Miranda's position in the future after some training as she grows up.

Miranda's divorce had gone smoothly thanks to the help of the Bombyx families connections and she had even got her restaurants back.

Not only did Miranda sell them to the family but also had the foresight to invest most of the money she had earned into the restaurant business.

This action let her solidify her place as a loyal employee and as someone who had invested their own money into the first daughters first business plan.

It was a risky move but Miranda believed that with the Bombyx family handling the restaurants they would flourish under their control so in the end she would definitely profit from it in the long term.

Her husband had dealings with unsavoury characters and took part in some illegal dealings along with his embezzlement of the business funds so it was easy to have him detained.

His mother was left homeless after the city reclaimed their property and the mother and child fled to avoid being involved so Miranda and Evie had been living within the Bombyx mansions servant room.

When Ki met Evie she noticed that she had a physique more suited towards poison arts than herself because during her childbirth her mother had begun to be poisoned and suffered from natal poison but still survived.

A forbidden method to create those with poison immunity suited for poison martial arts would be to poison the mother during pregnancy.

The mother would most definitely die during or after childbirth due to being weakened by the poison.

The child would either die before birth, be born sickly and with a reduced lifespan as the poison slowly eats away at them or they would survive along with gaining immunity to most some poisons.

After training and raising up Evie's body from the previous state her grandmother and father put her in, Ki believed Evie would be able to practice the Extreme Noxious Qi Art without much difficulty.

After consulting Miranda about the poison used on her during that time, Ki began to research the poison in order to prepare to use it as the foundation for Evie's poison arts and further research what kind of poisons she should start consuming in small amounts to build up some immunity to different or stronger types of poison while also helping Miranda to remove the poison that still lingered in her body.

Since it is the very poison which she had gained an immunity to during her birth then it would be the poison which she had the most immunity to and could use this to speed up her practice speed.

Ki had gone through a lot of trial and error during her time teaching her two little disciples, she mainly taught her brother tiger forms and fist techniques while she taught Evie palm techniques, the snake forms and some basics exercises to prepare her fingers and hands to be suitable for using throwing needles.

In Ki's and Evie's idle time they would carry two small metal balls in their hands and move them in their hand in a circular motion without losing control of them or dropping them, this exercise helps to exercise her hand accuracy and strength to prepare for handling throwing weapons.

Ki found that fist arts were not suited for herself compared to palm arts so stopped using them and solely focussed her attention on mastering the basic 8 palm forms and the 8 snake forms.

When she practiced blood sects Qi art she could afford to recklessly use direct fist attacks while exchanging blows thanks to her high vitality and her wounds ability to heal quicker than the average person but now after practicing her poison arts she came to realise that she needs to take a better approach to avoid harming her body during combat and find a way to better protect herself.

Palm techniques better suited her for deflecting others attacks, hitting the enemies joints, attacking the enemy with palm strikes when they reveal a weakness and while the snake forms did some of the same they also included some ways to grapple and subdue her opponents or break their bones by applying pressure on their joints.

Gradually she was gaining some understanding on both techniques and began to make small alterations to the basic palm forms to suit her bodies flexibility.

She had also solidified her foundation with her Generation Qi Arts first stage and her poisonous Qi had fully changed to a milky white colour.

Ki had spent some time pondering over her bodies current strength and whether she should begin practicing the intermediate 16 palm forms but decided to take things slow and build a firmer foundation for herself.

After she begins the next stage of her Generation Qi Art she will begin to practice the Blood Buddha Qi Art which will help to stimulate her growth further.

All she needs is a chance to take the step forward.

After practicing Ki went back to her newly built research room and looked around. "Some of the samples should be ready."

On different shelves there were many dried mulberry leaves, varying crushed fruits and herbs in jars marked by their date of crushing, pressing and picking date, other jars marked with the additional information of fermentation stage along with the dates.

Ki had been wine making in her free time that she had during the three months.

In another part of the room there were several large oak barrels attached with a metallic filter tap which contained Ki's various herbal and fruit wines in their final stages after filtering out the larger particles when putting the wine into the barrels, these were marked with their details and marked as filtration.

Finally many smaller oak barrels and bottles were displayed according to their wine name in order of date produced.

Ki looked around and picked up a bottle of mulberry wine with the oldest date, a packet of mulberry tea leaves and a basket of fresh mulberries and some fresh and washed mulberry leaves. "These should be enough!"

A warm smile appeared on Ki's face, if anything had changed during the 3 months then what was most noticeable was not her achievements or her progress in martial arts but her mood.

During the time living with her family once more she slowly got used to receiving unconditional love and the overall calm environment of the village provided moments of peace allowing her to find comfort within her home and a chance to heal her heart.
