Description

Martial Arts are styles of combat practiced by Martial Artists. There are numerous schools and styles of martial arts, each with a different approach and technique to combat.

Qi Arts

One thing all styles of martial arts have in common is that they all use Qi (Energy). Qi is ever present in all living organisms, including plants and animals. Martial artists use various Qi Arts to absorb and assimilate Qi from their surroundings and turn it into Internal Energy. The faster and more stable a Qi Art is at absorbing Qi, the higher it is ranked.

Martial Arts

Martial Arts are techniques that martial artists use in order to temper their body's and to fight against those that challenge them.

Bone Metamorphoses

Shed one's Mortal Body and Exchange one's Bones is something that a martial artist can do once they reach transcendent realm or higher, the process of bone metamorphoses is extremely painful and tiring, if the martial artist loses focus or loses consciousness then they will fail, which can result in Qi deviation or lead to death.

When a martial artist starts bone metamorphoses they can't do it quickly or rush it because that might ruin everything and they might suffer Qi deviation at the slightest mistake.

First Stage:

Breaking every bone in the body. If the martial artist loses focus here, it really will be the end, the martial artist will sag like a snail without a shell and die.

Second Stage:

Linkage of Mind and Soul. During this Stage Impure grime will leave the body.

No Matter how earnestly you control your mind and heart, this world is no nirvana, so impurities will pile up.

The vitality of the thousand year old ginseng will cause the accumulated pollutants found in the linkage of mind and soul to vanish.

Third Stage:

Complete Regeneration. The reforging of all the bones in the body and at the same time this will cure any illnesses and injuries.

Ranking System

1. Third rate - Weakest of all martial artists and serve as grunts in the world of martial arts.

2. Second rate - Experienced martial artists who serve as team leaders for Third Rates during battle. Typically, a Second Rate Warrior will lead a squad of about a dozen or less Third Rates.

3. First rate - Elite martial artists who are stronger than the majority but weaker than the true experts/masters

4. Peak level/master class - To become a Peak Level Martial Artist, one has to obtain complete mastery over at a martial art. This is also when martial artists generally start receiving titles being referred to as 'Experts' or 'Masters'. 100% Mastery.

5. Transcendent realm - Experts who are even stronger than Peak level because they have transcended simply mastering their martial art, they have improved and personalized the martial art to best suit themselves. Thus, they are called Great Masters. 120% Mastery.

6. Unrestrained realm - Experts who have gained enlightenment on how to solidify their qi. This allows them to use techniques like solidified qi shield.

7. Bright realm - Bright realm referred to as profound or mystic realm, is the realm of forging a mental state and gaining "something", a mental object. A sword or sword ability for a sword saint as an example, a domain for the someone who wishes to dominate, free blood manipulation for the blood martial artists. (If unrestrained is peak of worldly martial arts. Profound realm is about understanding of self and discoveries. Basically one should have quite a character to be able to over come the wall to profound realm.) lifespan can reach 150 to 250 years.

8. Life and death realm/divine realm - this realm is believed to be a myth but it is believed to be the realm in which one overcomes the boundaries of life and death and becomes a godly/immortal being.

Mystical arts/witchcraft/shamanistic arts

Instead of using Qi and martial arts mystical practitioners rely on mystical arts to protect themselves or attack others. Most of their arts require blood sacrifices, strange spells, worship of tribal statues or tattooing tribal markings onto their body in order to gain power. There is a limit to the power they can use depending on how healthy and strong their body is so training the body the primitive way as warriors or hunters.

Examples…

Gu arts - after making a contract with a gu (primarily a bug), the gu lives in the hosts body and lives on the hosts blood. The owner of the gu can use it to perform various tasks in secret after raising more gu for certain purposes. The main gu is like the king while the other are its followers. Uses would include adding a vitality gu to someone's food which grows inside them until it drains them of their life force and energy. Parent and child gu to transfer or steal the users qi/energy/life force. Charm gu which makes the person feel closer to the main host. Puppet gu to completely control the targets actions and desires. Poison or oath gu to be used on those who are useful but may not be trusted, if they betray the main host can trigger their death from far away. Etc

Note : gu masters are most suited for secretive acts and have little combat power, if one has not performed the contract ceremony correctly it could lead to a shortened lifespan and dwarfism or loss of ageing the more they use the gu abilities. Similar to poisons and curses in a different form. A marking is shown on a gu masters body in the form of a beauty mark/mole/birthmark, usually it is a dot on the forehead, under eyelid, back of hand or on chest.

Blood totem tattoo markings - after tattooing the markings on the arms and back with a mixture of herbs and blood. A ceremony is performed similar to gu art etc, mainly relies on the users physical strength and stamina. Main abilities are strengthening the body increasing physical strength for a period of time with stored blood reserves in the totems, blood storage in the tattoos but there is a limit per person, blood gathering from nearby to replenish energy and blood reserves in storage. King or leader ability to draw vitality or blood from their lower ranks to increase their abilities further.

Note : king ability is a final and forbidden technique which is dangerous to your own followers leaving them weak and drained or even kills them depending how much of their power is taken. It is basically used a last resort or final stand within a tribe.

Beast totem tattoo markings - uses animal blood and tattoo markings to be bound to a specific beast taking on some of their characteristics and power. For example a snake users body would be more flexible and sensitive to heat than ordinary humans and would gain an increase in vitality and a little more strength while a wolf user would gain increased awareness and agility.

Note : some beasts come with a passive ability or characteristic and an increased basic or minor boost in strength. After using the totem they can call upon the power of the beast fully increasing their abilities increasing their fighting power and lethality. Note : The more they master the use of the totem and increase their physical body the more power they can control. If they draw too much power they risk going berserk and losing themselves.
