I exit Tesha's shop and make my way down the street and towards the Teleportation Platform. I never expected to be jerked around so much by Tesha, but things don't always go according to plan. The bright side is once I'm done with getting The Rainbow Centepede Husk, I can finish up in Kedwein and finally check out the quest I have regarding William J. Kirk the Exorcist.
But I need to focus on what my current quest entails, and that's entering The Insect Breeding Grounds Dungeon. It's an Epic Grade Dungeon, and it'll be the hardest one that I've come to face this life. It won't be as hard as The Eternal Flower Hills Restricted Zone, but it won't be a cakewalk either. I remember plenty about it from my old life, but I've never faced it personally.
It was notorious for being one of the worst Dungeons to face because of the Poison and Damage Over Time attacks many of its inhabitants have. "They do have a fatal flaw, though... One that I'm exploiting to the fullest effect..." While the attacks that I'll be up against are truly dangerous, it's just as dangerous from the other massive insects in the Dungeon.
While one's own attacks and poison can't hurt, the attacks and poison from another creature are deadly all the same. You can use the attacks meant for you and have them used on other insects instead. "The problem with this strategy is I won't get any EXP because I'm not the one doing the killing in this scenario..." Sometimes, you have to do things to don't want to do.
It'll make the Dungeon several times easier if I use this strat... Before I can keep thinking about this, a crowd up ahead gets my attention, and I see a familiar barrier at the center of the surrounding crowd. "Looks like there is a PVP battle happening in Kedwein... A duel was agreed to..." I make my way over and make my way to the front.
I'm taller than most here, but I don't want to lean over others to see what's going on. "You think you can just rob my party of its hard-earned loot like that!! We spent hours trying to figure out The Forest Gnomes Dungeon, and you just come in and steal it!!" Interesting... That means whoever this person is talking to has the exclusive one-time drop blueprints for some great armor.
I was hoping to be the one to get them, but now that they're taken. I don't even need to consider doing The Forest Gnomes Dungeon. Once I'm done with this quest for Tesha, All I'll have is Von Jaric Larids Raid. "It's not like my party took the loot from your hands. These things work a specific way. Trial and error. We learned from everyone else and used that to win." That's factual...
Most people would be bitter about losing out to such great rewards after much work. It's like putting money into a slot machine and losing everything. Only for the next guy to come and spin once to get everything you were after. That's what the man complaining feels like. "We're dueling for those Blacksmithing and Armoring Blueprints!! They belong to my party!!" This is interesting. Most people don't put wagers like this in PVP duels in cities.
PVPers usually engage outside of cities because you get a guaranteed drop from the Player you're killing but in duels such as this. You don't get a drop unless you wager something in the system. "Fine, but if I win. You and your entire party are permanently banned from Libertas." There are oohs and ahhs around the crowd, and I'm invested now.
That's one of the most costly wagers, and if you lose when you have permanent banning at stake, you'll forever lose access to Libertas. The system knows your biometric data, so there is no fooling it. Once you're permanently banned, it's truly permanent. "Yale... This isn't a good idea..." Looks like Yale's party members don't want to risk it, and they don't have to agree to the wager.
Yale, on the other hand... He's definitely going to put up the wager... He's too consumed by anger and blinded by rage to think clearly. "I'll accept your wager, Kellison! My party members be damned!!" His teammates don't have faith in him, and it's pushed him over the edge. This is a bad start for him.
