[You've Discovered The City of Cellera! The main city in the Duchy of Ferzel and home to Duke Renold Ferzel and his family.]
[This location has been added to your Discovered Locations Tab and can be traveled to using the Travelers Compass.]
My body appears in a light outside the Teleportation Gate, and I land on the platform. I straighten my body as I read the system message. Some guards and collectors for entering Cellera reach me. "The fee for entry into Cellera is 50 Gold, and another 15 by Teleportation. If you can't pay the price, you'll receive a two-day ban." A nearly obese collector recites his words like second nature.
Not wasting any time, I pull the gold out of my Inventory and hand over a fat bag of gold. Another quality of life feature about Libertas has is when giving gold. It produces a bag for you. "Wait one moment while I check the amount." The greedy smile on the man's face grows as he places it into his own Inventory and confirms that's it's 65 Gold.
He nods his head at the guards, and they quickly leave me. My eyes scan around the area, and it's just as busy here as it is in Kedwein. The exception is the balance between Players and NPCs. Cellera only has NPCs, as far as I can see. People can't afford the price at this point. Some guilds can, but they would go to other places.
Time to do what I came here to do, and that's to take on the dungeon Eloise's Nightmare. It's weird that I'm going to talk to a Duke. Duke's are the second-highest rank behind Arch-Duke. Above them, it's the Emporer and his wife and children. "I know where his estate is. It's near the center of the city..." My mumbling draws no attention. Why would it?
Cellera is massive compared to Kedwein, and it's capable of occupying 1.2 million people at a time. While this is large in perspective, it's relatively moderate compared to the true scale of some cities in Libertas. As I leave the platform and start walking down the street, the many stores and shops catch my eye. Plenty of business here, and once players learn about Eloise's Dungeon...
Let's just say that a lot of business is coming here, but that's still some time down the road, and I'll be long gone by then. "Did you hear? The Duke is rumored to be outsourcing to other cities for supplies... None of the local nobles know why? Maybe he's planning a rebellion." My attention is pulled by a passing conversation that I overhear.
A rebellion against the Termal family wouldn't end well, and if people knew what he was up to, they wouldn't talk about such things. "Yeah, it's got Baron Eugene scared." Baron Eugene... He's the lord of a city inside the Duchy of Ferzel. From what I remember about his lore, he's a paranoid-struck noble. Constantly thinking others are after him.
He's a powerful man despite only being a Baron, and while many don't think that highly of him as a noble, he's a terrific Swordsman. I keep moving towards the estate, having learned something interesting on the way there. The Termal family knows about Eloise's state and has tried to help. The lore of the mission stated this when I did it for the first time.
It's a long walk to Duke Renold Ferzel's estate, and it's going to take me about 25 to 30 minutes. In the meantime, I can go over what to expect in the dungeon. It's a thought projection, meaning Eloise's psyche is creating this, caused by a curse. The dungeon is located on the estate, and entering it isn't hard. It's how I treat the environment.
Killing the monsters and the boss won't do anything to Eloise's mind, but there are certain things I can't do. The most important thing, I can't mess with her memories or mind. Only things related to the curse afflicting her and the dungeon itself. It's not as complicated as it sounds. All I have to do is steer clear of anything that might harm her after the curse is lifted from her.
Being a repeatable dungeon, Eloise will wake up and be fine after the first clear. The lore states that the dungeon stays due to the emotional trauma that Eloise sustains while still afflicted by the curse. This is why I love lore. It adds some sort of depth to the characters. The system is doing good in its job.
