Salma went home excited that day, she did find Lukas attractive but she knew she couldn't trust anyone, that was what she had learnt the hard way in her life. Being the president's daughter she had met men who wanted to take advantage of her to be able to gain fame but luckily for her they never did get any far before they were taken care of by her father who loved her dearly.
That was the reason why her parents had advised her to be with Hareem who was the perfect match for her. He was the son of one of the ministers who were very close to Mr Edward and also a close friend they were there during their family gatherings and any other occasions.
She woke up excited after having an intense chat with Lukas that night she headed to take breakfast when she saw the news on the television. People were rooting for the death of the girl and they were demanding Justice, all of a sudden she did not have the appetite to eat. She left for school immediately and her mood was off.
Pinky jumped up on her during the lunch break, she was seated at one of the tatableshich had no one.
"goldy! " Pinky came to where she was hugging her with so much excitement.
"don't call me that you know I changed my hair and you ditched me yesterday. So you have some explaining to do'' she said, annoyed at her.
"Sorry, now come to join us at our table, you don't have to stay all alone here," she said as she dragged her to join them where they were seated. Pinky had a few friends from the school who were not so bad but Salma didn't feel comfortable around big groups she never did even when she was a young child. She didn't move in packs like most people.
She was able to escape from them and take a break but it was already evening when she went to sit by the pool. She had been thinking of joining the swimming club since she was a good swimmer ever since she was a child. She arrived just when everybody was at practice and sat close by as she watched them practice.
Lukas was around and came to where she sat while she watched them swim, she was able to spot the girl with the blue hair.
"I was thinking of joining them but now I have changed my mind" she observed how the lady swam.
"Because of Sandra?" he asked her, turning to look at the team swimming.
"So that's her name," she said to him. "Something about me doesn't like her, and I am avoiding bad energies like that. I don't want another murder case on my name" she blurted out.
"murder case, it doesn't have to be that serious you can join the opposing team," he said to her.
"yeah until we end up on the same team and the same locker room," she said to him, and he got curious to know it all.
"you can let it all out," he said to her and she turned and smiled back at him.
"That's not what I want to talk about, maybe we should get some ice cream and discuss our non-exclusive relationship," she said changing the topic and they got up.
"damn you new girl!" she heard a voice in her head and turned her head to look back, it was Sandra but she didn't seem to be speaking.
"That's strange," she said to herself, trying to catch up to Lucas who was moving fast.
In a short time they were at the ice cream parlour, and boy, Salma needed this. She had it all over her face. Lukas had to help her clean up some stains of ice cream on her face.
"So what do we call this?" Salma asked after he had helped her clean up.
"I didn't know you had a strong passion for ice cream," he said to her, a bit concerned.
"I am stressed, but let's talk about us, that can be a good destruction," she said as they began to walk outside the school compound.
"Is it about the girl?" he asked her, very concerned.
"Yeah, can we keep everything we take about just between us?" she asked him to be ready to speak about what went on that day.
"yeah we can have that as part of our agreement," he said to her and she smiled at him that they were doing this.
"So we are in some kind of situation, which is not dating. I don't think I want to be in a relationship now with everything going on, but I feel l9ke I want a manly figure in my life that is cute like you are, and am also not ready to get deeply intimate." She explained herself to him and he listened to her keenly.
"I don't know if you are getting me, but my life is currently messed up a little bit and I don't want a full-time commitment, like…" she was cut short of her explanation by a sweet kiss from Lukas, it got her by surprise and she kissed him back passionately and she closed her eyes to enjoy her first kiss.
"Can we get that intimate?" He stopped kissing her and asked her to still hold her close to him.
"I guess so", she said feeling shy as she blushed, but she was brave enough to look at him.
"I also need someone to talk to, who doesn't look at me like the president's daughter, "she said, pulling herself together.
"Are you the president's daughter?" he asked her with a confused look on his face, that made her laugh at him trying to pretend like he didn't know that.
"Yeah something like that," she said after taking a breath and sitting down at one of the benches by the streets, it was just beginning to get dark.
"Talk to me, pretty what bothers you?" he sat next to her and took one of her hands and held on unto.
"I only remember her calling me names, then she began pulling me like she was looking for something in me, and then..." she staggered for a moment with tears swelling up her eyes.
"And then what?" he asked her, very eager to hear what she wanted to say, but she was silent for a few seconds, staring into the air trying to remember.
"I don't remember. I just woke up the next day, and everything was on the news", she said letting her tears fall off her eyes and she wiped them real quick.
