Chapter 38 - The Tavern's First Waiter

While Alan was still puzzled, the man at the door strode towards the bar counter.

"Hello, you are the owner of this tavern."

'The tone of his statement is not a question, so this man already confirmed my identity,' Alan speculated in his heart.

Alan could not figure out this person's purpose, but he was in his tavern and his territory, so he did not have any fear. After all, the governor and the administrative officer were still sitting on the side. From the beginning, the two of them had been staring at Yupanki.

"I am. Why are you looking for me? Do we know each other?"

Yupanki's expression did not change and he did not answer Alan's question.

"Someone asked me to look for you. She asked me to stay here for a while, and when she comes back, she will take me away." After confirming that he had found the right person, Yupanki's face once again showed a sly smile.

Alan heard him. Did someone ask him to look for him? Who was it? He didn't know many people, unless...

"Olivia?" Alan tentatively said a name.

The man standing on the other side of the bar nodded with a smile.

Alan was a little surprised. He didn't expect it was really her. Her Highness sent someone to stay here temporarily? What kind of operation was this?

Although the two of them were friends, they really couldn't figure out why Olivia sent someone to the tavern.

Yupanki did not disturb the young man who was thinking. He just stood aside and watched with a smile.

"Did she say anything else?" Alan asked.

"At that time, I was injured. Her Highness told me not to follow for the rest of the journey and to return to Rock City to look for you. You will arrange everything. When the princess is returning to the Imperial City, she will come and take me away."

Alan had a contemplative look on his face. His left hand rubbed his smooth chin twice.

Alan clenched his left hand into a fist, his right hand was stretched open, and his left hand lightly tapped his right hand.

"Well, since Olivia asked you to come, then stay in the tavern for the time being. If you have nothing to do, help me greet the guests. I will take care of your meals."

"Yes, sir." Then, he gave Alan a knight's salute.

At this time, Wayne, who was dragged all the way here by Dorje, finally appeared at the entrance of the tavern.

"Alan!" Wayne didn't even have time to catch his breath before he called out first, startling everyone in the tavern.

Alan was a little confused. "What's wrong, Mister Wayne?"

"Hu... Hu, are you okay? Dorje said you might be in danger."

"Ah?" Alan was even more confused.

Wayne finally stopped panting and looked up.

Yupanki's night's salute was still the same. Now it was Wayne's turn to be confused. This person was the danger that Dorje mentioned? Wasn't he very respectful to little Alan?

Alan saw Wayne staring at Yupanki without moving. He thought about it and roughly knew what was going on.

He suddenly felt a warmth in his heart. He was about to explain when someone rushed out from behind Wayne. A large hand grabbed the back of his collar, preventing Dorje from falling out.

"Mister Dorje, Mister Wayne, this is Yupanki, a friend of my friend. He will be staying in the tavern as a waiter for the time being," Alan smiled as he introduced the two people who were still standing at the door.

Yupanki was quite perceptive. He knew that the two people at the door were people close to Alan, so he immediately went up to greet them.

When Wayne heard that they were friends, he immediately started chatting with people who called him brother, while Dorjee, who was like a shrew, was always on guard.

Therefore, after a simple meeting, Yupanki's job as a temporary waiter in the tavern was settled.

..

"Yo, Yupanki, why don't I see little Alan here today?" Wayne shouted as soon as he entered the door.

"Alan is still in the wine cellar." In just two days, Yupanki was already a qualified waiter. Not only could he talk to the customers, but he was also very familiar with the two types of drinks in the shop, at least he had a good grasp on the Lafite's breathing process.

Yupanki's EQ was very high, so he quickly got along with Wayne and the others. Dorje was very vigilant, and temporarily remained suspicious of people who suddenly appeared, but he did not find that he had any bad intentions. At most, he was more calculating, so he did not say anything.

"Yupanki, my daughter is very beautiful. Are you really not going to consider it?" Knapp began to look around the world for good men for his daughter.

"Hahaha... Knapp, how can your three daughters be called beautiful? Stop joking!" Every time the customers in the pub heard Knapp promoting his daughters, they could not help but ridicule him.

After all, his three daughters were the famous fat girls in Rock City. Each of them was as fat as the next...

"Thank you, Knapp. If I lose my job one day and want to retire in Rock City, I will consider your daughters." Yupanki was as smooth as a politician and was flawless when dealing with people.

He always had a way to easily resolve the teasing he received from the old men in the tavern.

Yupanki had a fulfilling time as a waiter. With his ability, it was a waste of talent.

He had a good relationship with the customers in the tavern. Many customers would not joke with Alan due to his young age. What they did not know was that there was a middle-aged man's soul in Alan's body.

It was different for Yupanki. He could blend in well with topics of the aristocracy and he could also grasp the vulgar topics of the people at the bottom of the society.

Alan could not help but sigh when he saw how well he was doing in the tavern. As expected, people that the princess had taken a fancy to were very capable.

He thought of leaving Yupanki in the tavern. A super butler who could fight, guard the house, and entertain customers was simply wonderful.

With Yupanki watching over the drinking hall, Alan's free time was reserved for the wine cellar in the backyard. To make a name for his tavern during the Harvest Festival in 10 days, he needed to brew a lot of wine in advance.

..

In the days leading up to the Harvest Festival, the attendant from Lord Kramer's residence would often come to Alan for advice.

The last time he saw this attendant was when Olivia first came to Rock City. He was the one who came to the tavern early in the morning to pass on the message. Only then did Alan know that his name was Morad, the head butler of the governor's mansion.

"Alan, may I ask how you came up with such a great idea? You should know that when Lord Kramer returned that day, he immediately called for a meeting to discuss your plan. Everyone thought that the person who came up with this plan was very capable. Of course, I also thought so. Everyone thought that the games you proposed were very interesting..."

When they first met, the cold and aloof attendant of the governor's residence left a deep impression on Alan. As they met more and more often, they became more and more familiar with each other. Alan would occasionally treat him to a drink.

What he did not expect was that Morad was a person who would collapse after one drink. Moreover, after one drink, he would immediately become a chatterbox, which was really beyond Alan's expectations.

"Alan, please let Morad go. Every time he comes, you have to treat him to a drink. Is it so fun to watch him embarrass himself?" Yupanki looked at Morad, who would be ruined by Alan every time he came, and felt a little sympathetic.

"I think there is nothing more interesting than letting a person who pretends to be serious take off his mask. Moreover, this is not embarrassing. I am helping him liberate his true nature!" Alan said confidently.

After listening to Alan's twisted reasoning, Yupanki could only shrug his shoulders helplessly at Morad who had turned into a chatterbox, indicating that there was nothing he could do.
