"Be careful!" Alice noticed that a zombie was about to attack Crowe from behind, so she quickly warned him. However, Crowe had already noticed it. He didn't even turn his head as he waved his right arm behind him and the zombie that was close to him was instantly beheaded. It couldn't look more dead.
"Let's deal with the zombies in front of us first." Crowe didn't dwell on Alice's mistake anymore, it was not a time for chatting.
"I think there are about thirty or forty zombies, at least. It is quite a number." Crowe thought for a moment and started moving. He saw three boys and a young girl who had fought beside Alice. He saved them, as he took another look at Beatrice, who had short silver hair, and Gordon, who was tall and sturdy. These two had the ability to deal with zombies, although they looked exhausted.
Roar!
A zombie screeched and grabbed Beatrice. She used the knife to block off the zombie's claws but her body was already too worn out. She missed the shot and failed to block it in time. With its impact the zombie had hit Beatrice hard, her knife flew away from her hand as she fell to the ground. She expected that the floor would be hard and cold but instead, she landed on a warm embrace. Beatrice was stunned, her confusion disappeared a moment later as she regained her senses.
"Thank you." Beatrice landed in Crowe's embrace. She looked at the side of Crowe's face and thanked him.
"You're welcome," Crowe responded impartially.
"Can you help me up?" She asked. The girl's delicate body was very soft as if she had no bones, there was also a smell of light fragrance on her body. It wasn't the smell of perfume but her natural scent. Beatrice had a delicate face. Her skin was as smooth as porcelain and her eyes and teeth were as bright as sunlight. Beatrice's beauty was not inferior to Sandra or Eileen at all. Hearing Beatrice, Crowe lifted her and let go of her.
"So you guys survived on the third floor?" Crowe asked Beatrice.
"Yes, we did." Beatrice stopped replying when she noticed another zombie started attacking her again. She looked around, trying to search where her knife was. She didn't see it, so she improvised and positioned herself in a fighting pose and clenched her fists in front of her chest.
While Beatrice was carefully fighting against the zombie's attack, Crowe took a step forward and stabbed the zombie's head with his blade. Its ferocious face froze, its clawing hands suddenly stopped and fell. Crowe pulled out his alloy blade and another zombie fell lifelessly to the ground.
"Wow, you're strong!" Beatrice narrowed her eyes and looked at Crowe, who was about the same age as her. She was a little shocked because had never seen anyone able to pull off a clean attack like that.
Even if she had full strength and was in her best condition, she couldn't do what Crowe did. Gordon saw Crowe as well, he saw the way Crowe had killed off all ferocious zombies without working up a sweat. He was completely shocked yet amazed at the same time.
Gordon felt that the power of the blade was extremely hardy, it was probably even stronger than a full-strength swing of his iron rod. It was hard for Gordon to imagine someone like Crowe who wasn't looking quite as strong to have such powerful strength.
"I'll clear the entrance. You guys can head up first." Crowe said to Alice and Beatrice. He also noticed the two boys who were standing next to Gordon but they were too weak to catch his attention. After getting Beatrice's answer, Crowe could only think of one thing, since these people had come to the second floor, the electronic door on the third floor must have been closed, so he had to let them go up first so they could open the electronic door and close it after.
With his strength, he could easily deal with more than ten zombies at a time. Although thirty or forty zombies would be a lot of pressure yet he was able to take them out altogether. If he were to kill those zombies separately he wouldn't have to work up a sweat.
"What about you?" Beatrice asked as looked directly at Crowe.
"You guys head back up first. I'll catch up after I finish dealing with these zombies." Crowe said casually. "By the way, close the electronic door once you arrive. I'll ask you to open it when I come up to you."
"No way." Beatrice sternly refused. Although she wasn't familiar with Crowe, he had just saved her and the others' lives, she was not going to let him deal with all those zombies alone.
"Hey, big guy, bring these two with you," Crowe shouted at Gordon who was not too far away. "You're too weak. You'll only get in my way here. Besides, it's not like I'm going to die here. I'm not that selfless." He insisted on Beatrice.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Alice came to Crowe's side and asked worriedly.
"I'll be fine." Crowe calmly answered.
"Are you all here, follow me closely," Crowe responded to Alice. Seeing Gordon running over with the two boys, Crowe nodded to signal that he was going to move.
His right hand was fiddling with the alloy blade. His fingers danced like nymphs. Crowe rushed to the staircase where he first arrived. There were still three zombies blocking his way. However, a larger number of zombies were behind him and four were encircling him.
Thwack! Thwack! Thwack!
The sound of Crowe's alloy blade went against zombies' rotting bodies. One after another, Crowe killed the zombies on both sides almost in an instant.
Alice and Beatrice were shocked beyond words. They thought that Crowe's strength was just his ability to kill zombies better than most people but what he did during the fight was something else, it was extraordinary. They thought that even specially-trained soldiers might've not been able to pull off what Crowe did. How could a seventeen or eighteen-year-old boy possibly achieve this level of skills and strength?
Crowe, however, had already eliminated thirty to forty zombies since he arrived. It was obvious he could be that strong and competent. Even though Alice and Beatrice's group were strong and resilient, their capability altogether couldn't be compared to Crowe's.
"He was so strong...Did you see what happened?" One of the boys said.
"We're safe, we're safe!" The other added.
The boys looked at Crowe as if he was some kind of god or a mythical hero. Their eyes filled with admiration and respect, they previously thought that their life was over as they were swarmed by the wave of zombies. They could've been torn to pieces and didn't even get the chance to be turned into a zombie, they would've been just pieces of meat and bones lying on the floor that Crowe saw at the cafeteria when he entered the building. With Crowe's aid, that desperation went away!
Crowe was calm while he was listening to the boys' praises. This [Intermediate Combat Technique] that he had obtained was fully activated as he proceeded. When he reached the stairway, he wasn't worried about the three zombies that were heading toward him.
His power was surging and he kicked the left zombie's stomach, creating an obvious dent that was almost 10 inches deep. The zombie was sent flying and severely crashed into the wall of the stairway and landed on the ground.
