Chapter 5 - The Survivor Turned Out to Be a Beautiful Counselor!

Crowe, who was sitting on the floor, was thrilled as he heard the voice of the system. The exhaustion in his body was instantly swept away.

In anticipation, he first opened the reward manual and was immediately dazzled by the densely packed system notifications. After he went through it, Crowe realized that a large portion of them were the notifications of points he earned from killing zombies. Among them, only one was special.

"Ding! Congratulations to the host for completing the [Ten Kills] achievement mission! The reward is a [Beginner Combat Technique] skill book!"

After he had read the notifications, Crowe finally understood that not only would he obtain points for killing zombies but he would also obtain additional rewards for killing a certain number of zombies. Just like this [Beginner Combat Technique] skill book, it was the achievement reward given by the system for killing 10 zombies.

'After learning the beginner combat technique I should be able to clear out zombies more efficiently now. This is just what I needed!'

Crowe's adrenaline surged by just thinking about it, and the motivation that he could push through the path ahead surged. Then, his gaze fell on the ordinary-looking skill book in the system inventory, and he immediately took it out.

[Beginner Combat Technique]— after using it, you will obtain a series of close combat techniques, that include ancient martial arts such as Karate, Jiu-jitsu, Taekwondo, Jeet Kune Do, wrestling, short blade, wooden stick, flying needle, iron ball, razor and etc... You will obtain beginner combat techniques and experience!

"Wow! This reward is awesome! With this, I can become the most powerful martial artist alive!

"Use it immediately!"

After he screened through the introduction of the [Beginner Combat Technique], Crowe was dazzled. He placed both his palms on the book and used it immediately. The skill book diffused into specks of fluorescent light and fused into his body.

In the next second, a stream of new memory fragments began to fuse together. They appeared in his mind as if they were created out of thin air. The forceful addition of new memories sent a wave of pain through his head.

At the same time, he felt the tickling sensation on his body resurfaced again. All the muscle fibers in his body were squirming, and a mysterious and wonderful feeling began to flow through every inch of his skin as if he had been reborn. In this very short period of time, Crowe's body had undergone a dramatic change.

Soon, the pain in his mind faded like a tide, and his white t-shirt soaked in sweat. After he examined body again, under the wet clothes, his muscles were as distinct as ancient Greek sculptures. As his breathing quickened, the sound of the airflow in his heart and lungs could be clearly heard, steady and strong.

Crowe placed his palm in front of his eyes and clenched it. He could faintly feel the air being squeezed out of his palm in that instant. After he tried to throw a punch, an unprecedented explosive force was instantly transmitted out and the air was vibrated with a buzzing sound as if inertia ceased to exist.

Crowe's punch stopped right in front of a mineral water bottle without touching it at all. This kind of precise control of power was completely incomparable to what he had before. This was all thanks to the [Beginner Combat Technique] skill book.

Besides his physical enhancements, Crowe probed his own memories, a large amount of information had indeed appeared in his mind. This information was deeply engraved in his mind. It was as if he had trained hard for more than ten years and had a full grasp of all kinds of combat techniques. The combat experience, the use of power, and so on were all integrated into his bones, it was completely integrated into his bones.

"This kind of power is too awesome!"

Unable to contain his excitement, Crowe shouted in joy. He closed his eyes and felt the power flow through his veins.

Although his attributes panel didn't change much, the feeling of having mastered all kinds of combating techniques and being able to burst out powerful combat power from every part of his body was really exciting to him.

'Just by understanding basic combat techniques has brought this kind of power. Then what kind of changes will the [Advanced Combat Technique] skill book bring me after killing a hundred zombies? I'm really looking forward to it!'

In light of this, Crowe understood that he could trigger the system reward when he found certain resources or when he killed more zombies. As such, he could not afford to stop. At the very least, he had to continue fighting before he was able to get a moving vehicle in order to complete the modification of the armored vehicle.

Crowe suppressed the hunger in his stomach, and he fiercely exhaled and stood up. He was chewing the half box of chewing gum that he had collected with great difficulty. He glanced at the time and it was 6:17 pm. There was still half an hour before the sun would set. At that time, the dormitory building would probably fall into darkness immediately.

"Move out!"

Cautiously, Crowe walked out of the room and slowly approached the stairway leading to the third floor. Although he had lured the enemy in and killed the zombies on the fourth floor, and he had mastered the beginner combat technique in just a few minutes, he was still extremely vigilant. Who knew if a more powerful zombie would suddenly rush out from a corner.

Crowe did not think of himself as the main character of a movie who was protected by the plot of the story. If he acted like background actors or extras that rampaged their way out and acted recklessly, he definitely wouldn't survive more than five minutes.

Soon, the scene of the third floor appeared in front of Crowe's eyes. It was dirty and chaotic. Fortunately, there were only three zombies on this floor.

Crowe smiled slightly and walked confidently out of the stairwell. He gleamed with joy at the zombies who were attracted to him. The alloy blade was drawn out, and his calves were slightly bent. Crowe was already in a fighting posture and it was time to test the power of his newly acquired combat techniques.

"Come on, you b*stards!!"

Crowe's body moved nimbly between the slow zombies. The blood pressure in his body surged, and the trajectory of the alloy blade in his hand became more and more strange. Every time he waved it, a large amount of blood splattered.

Roar!

Slash!

As if possessed by the reaper, Crowe was fighting to his heart's content, continuously taking down zombies one by one.

Ten minutes passed and by looking at the bloodstains on the corridor and the three zombie corpses in front of him, Crowe let out a grin.

"Just as what I have expected of the beginner combat technique. I am able to fully utilize the strength of my body. Unfortunately, at my current level, I could only deal with a group of three zombies.

"Fortunately, I've cleared all the zombies on this floor! Now, it's time to enjoy the fruits of my labor!"

Crowe walked past the stairs in the middle of the hallway. He saw that the iron gate on the third floor was wrapped with thick chains, and blocked the passage between the upper and lower floors. Then, he walked towards the activity hall of the dormitory without any hesitation. In the center of the activity hall, Crowe was petrified.

"F*ck! Is this the work of a f*cking human?"

The five vending machines that were originally there had long disappeared. From the traces left on the ground, it was obvious that they had been pushed away by someone. The entire area was clear at a glance and there was no sign of food or water.

Crowe wasn't happy with what he found, so he turned around and started searching in the hall. Soon, he discovered that the door of a reading room in the southeast corner of the hall was tightly shut.

He arrived at the door, but he was not in a hurry to enter. Instead, he used the hilt of his blade to lightly knock on the door three times. He waited for more than ten seconds, and confirmed that there was no movement from the room caused by the knocking.

Just as he was about to break into the room, a series of knocking sounds came from behind the door. It sounded like a signal, and it was also three knocks. Crowe's eyes flashed and he immediately said,

"The zombies on the third floor have been cleaned up. Whoever's in there can come out now."

He waited for another 10 seconds for a reply. Just as Crowe was about to lose his patience, a weak female voice came from the study room. Then, the door opened gently, and a tall blonde beauty walked out.

"I'm Marina, the counselor of Bastille University. You... Are you a rescue worker?!"
