"Yes we did save Hope from the Bandit Lair."
"Then you have my thanks." The King said earnestly.
"It was no bother. Hope is a sweet girl anyway so all was fine."
"Oh? You find her sweet? Hmmm. Well, I suppose I should reward you for saving my daughter." Said the king.
"Actually Papa, I wanted to talk to you about a special reward for Sir Vance. But for now we can give him some gold and maybe a house?"
"Oh? A special reward? Well we can discuss that at a later time. As for now I will give you 500 Gold Coins and a manor in the nobility district by the castle."
"Ah. Thank you your majesty."
"As the savior of my daughter you can simply call me John. There's no need for formalities."
"That sounds fine then John. What do you girls think of the reward."
"Mr. Vance, a manor in the nobility district is very good as only very important nobles can get one in the district of the Royal Capital. And 500 gold coins is a massive amount of money for the commoners."
"Master I think this reward is satisfactory."
"Well then it seems that we have no problems with it. Thank you John."
"No. Thank you for saving my daughter. I can't imagine what would happen if she wasn't saved."
"Well I'm glad that we happened to be there at the time to save her."
"As am I. Now, not to be rude but it seems I must discuss this special reward with my daughter. I will have a guard bring you to your manor, and I will have the gold coins delivered to you. Hopefully we will be able to have you over for dinner later on today."
"Yeah sure. I don't think we have anything to do today. Well besides maybe visiting the guild to check on our ranks. Hopefully they would have finished counting the herbs by now. Well I'll see you later John and Hope." Vance said as he turned around and started following the guard with the girls following behind.
A short time later Vance and the girls reached the manor. It had three stories and a large yard. There was a beautiful garden around back and the whole house was surrounded by a wall with a beautifully designed gate entrance.
"Well here's the manor. I'll be heading back to my station now." Said the guard that had lead them there.
As the guard left, Vance and the girls headed inside the manor in order to check it out. They checked out the living room, bathroom, bedrooms, and the master bedroom. Time passed as Vance and the girls looked around and eventually ended up resting in their own ways: Vance by sleeping, Alice and Celine by playing a game of chess that Vance had created. And then came a knock at the door.
"I was instructed by his royal majesty, to inform you that it is time for dinner. And that he would like you to attend." Said the guard at the door.
"Okay. I'll go wake up Master and tell him to get ready. We will be there." Said Celine who had answered the door.
As the guard left, Celine headed to the master bedroom to wake Vance up.
