Chapter 2 - The first encounter

I was 20 years old when he opened the door for me, and I haven't been able to close it since.

He was not a good person, he was abusive, both verbally and physically, I never understood why I stayed, maybe because he was like a lost little animal that I could help, a mindless animal that is, like a mindless chimp who can act innocent as a child and then snap for no reason.

But I had had enough, enough abuse, enough beating.

The last day I saw "him", he was chasing after me with a knife, threatening to take away from me my sweet little lilly.

Lilliy was my dog, my baby, my companion, a beautiful brown weenie dog that he himself had bought for me, thats why he wanted to take her away, because he knew how much it would hurt me to lose her, -I bought her, so she is mine, he said, I ran and hid in the restroom, all I saw was a kitchen knife through the door, I screamed and threatened to call the cops... then silence, he was gone.

a week passed and I had not heard from him, then he came.

I was laying in bed with Lilly when I felt his presence. -I can't believe he is back, he is probably outside trying to come in, maybe looking through a window, that creep!.

I looked out the window but it was too dark, -I know he is here somewhere, might as well get into it and get it over with.

I searched outside the house, the front door, the back door, every window, I looked outside into the street and he was no where to be found, so I went back to bed, back to watch whatever old movie was on TV.

Thats when he came, Lilly saw him first, she looked at the bedroom door and wagged her little tail, dogs are so innocent, they know no evil, they just love unconditionally.

Lilly stared and whimpered, then I saw him too.

A tiny little orb of light, the size of a golf ball floated towards us, and I just knew, I somehow knew that was him. -say bye to your dad Lilly, then it was gone.

But how could that be, it makes no sense, so I went back to watching TV, still trying to ignore what I had just seen.

You see our brains have a way of coping with things like that, its like a hidden secret that we all know on the back of our heads, this other world and all its secrets are there, hidden in our brains, but we forget, or choose to forget, because those secrets are far too powerful for us to deal with.

So I ignored it, I pushed it back and dismissed.

One hour later, I got the call, he had been in an accident and had passed away on the scene, exactly an hour ago, exactly when I saw him.

I've had many other encounter ever since, not with him but with others, because he opened the door, not a physical door, but a door... to the other world.
