Chapter 1 - Burning trust

'Trust is earned, not given'

Inspired by

Family

Friends

I thank you all for being there and helping me every step of the way.And the kind of music that was brought into my life writing this story.

Chapter 1:

Being the bartender and owner at 'Blood Moon Strip Club' was hard at times.

"Hey, Victor!" A bald headed bouncer said.

"Hey, can you open the doors for me?"

"Sure."

As the doors opened, all the parties came in. While Victor was serving drinks to people, a woman screamed…

"Hey get the fuck off of her!" Victor yelled, "And get the hell out of my bar!"

"Hey man, you can't tell me what the fuck to do." The guy said drunk.

The guy pushed Victor into a table as the bouncer dragged the guy out. Then a woman walked over.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine." Victor said.

"What is your name?"

"Victor and yours?"

"Monique."

                                                                                    X

The lights shone into Monique's eyes as she pushed away from the bar after her tenth shot of Fireball. To bad she couldn't get drunk. Stupid metabolism.

"Done already?"

"Yeah."

"I sent someone to the alley."

"Okay."

The music blared in her ears as she crossed the dance floor. Drunken men, women, and teens bumped into her as she walked to the door. She wasn't there just to drink alcohol but also to suck the down-worlders' souls.

Hey it's not easy being part- demon- part- dragon. She had to feed somehow, and the down-worlders are stupid when drunk {not even realizing that she is there and that there people always going missing}.

But there were eyes watching her {well there were always eyes watching her}.

Monique was tall, slim, silky long black hair… making her able to seduce her victims with her looks.

But these eyes burned with hate and something else.

Meeting her victim out in the alley, she made her dinner quick, as she ate the down-worlders' soul. A bullet hit the brick wall, she dropped her near dead victim and ran into the night.

"Shit!"

She stopped thinking that she had lost them.

Wrong!

A sack went over head, she fought the hands that dragged her to what she supposed was a van. Soon her hands and feet were restrained by ropes. They put another sack on her head- dimming her view.

The van started forward, muffled voices were talking all around her; and then everything went black.

                                                            X

A fireplace popping, the place was dim.

A burning, stinging pain pierced her wrists and ankles.

Silver!

Monique's' eyes opened and her nose flared at the smell of burned skin, and blood. Reality hit her as the door opened and a man with a mask on, walked in.

'Well. It's good to see that you are awake, Monique."

"Let. Me. The. Fuck. Go!" she yelled, struggling against the chains that held her.

Then the torcher came… burning, cutting, and beating… everything came to her body, as she fought against the pain.

Darkness surrounded her as she blacked out.

                                                                        X

She woke up days later, on the floor. But she wasn't alone. Hearing a low deep growl coming from a werewolf.

She didn't move… but the wolf did… feeling a crushing pain in her leg, then in her shoulder.

There was more than just one wolf --three to be exact.

The third wolf's teeth sank into her throat, cutting off her screams. She froze under the wolf and started letting the hand of death take the rest of her life from her.

The wolves jumped off of her as hands grabbed at her and chained her wrists and ankles again.

She tried to speak; but brought up blood instead.

The man laughed at her struggle.

He walked over to a forge and poked at the fire with a metal pole. Once it was heated, he turned to her…

"Now hold still." He smiled, "Hold her in place."

His apprentice held her head in place and placed the heated pole against her eyes; burning them shut. The attempted scream came out as more blood. More burning came to her right shoulder.

Next thing she knew, she was thrown out into the darkness and left to fend for herself.

Dragging her body along with her, as she grabbed and felt around for trees and logs to pull herself out of the woods.

            Water.

            Is that water?

Pulling herself out of the tree line, she soon realized that it wasn't a river; but something the down-worlders had made. Then there were bright lights.

Another down-worlders' thing {or as they call them; cars}.

Hope left her body as she just laid there on the side of the road {as the down-worlders called it}. As Monique laid there, something fell on her cheek.

            Rain!

The rain helped the stinging pain; but it did not heal her. Then Monique saw more bright lights through her closed burnt eyes. Blood came up as she tried calling for help; but soon gave up; for her body was too weak to fight any longer.

Chapter 2:

Vicky sat in a truck with her boyfriend, Logan, as their guardians drove them back to St. Mary Academy. The storm delayed them by ten minutes.

Vicky looked out the car window, watching the tree line start to form as they drove by. Suddenly, the truck stopped…

"The battery is overheating." Jason said, "Stay in the car."

While Jason and Sam were outside, the headlights fell onto a limp figure lying on the side of the road.

            Then it moved!

Vicky got out of the car.

"Vicky!" Sam called out to her.

Vicky stopped at the limp figure, kneeling down, she turned the limp figure over, and became sick at what she saw.

                                                                        X

Monique jumped at the cold hands that touched her.

"Shh… I'm not going to hurt you."

More blood came up.

"Sam!"

Sam and Jason ran to Vicky, who was holding a body.

Sam tried to take Vicky back to the car.

"No Sam, I'm going to stay with her."

Sam went back to Logan and Jason stayed with Vicky and called the academy.

"Yes… she's still alive… yes… at this moment she is losing a lot of blood... alright… see you in a little bit."

Jason hung up the phone and covered Monique with his duster to guard her from the rain and Vicky an umbrella.

                                                                        X

Fifteen minutes passed by the time the academy's ambulance came to help this person.

"My princess, please…"

"No, I'm not going to leave her; she is scared."

Vicky cradled Monique's head and lifted her head as they put onto a stretcher and strapped Monique in, but when it came to the oxygen mask, Monique strained against the straps that held her down and moved her head away from the mask.

"It's okay, the oxygen mask is not going to hurt you, it's going to help you."

This time Monique let them put the mask on her face.

Vicky stayed with Monique as they lifted her up into an ambulance, Vicky sitting by her side and gripped her hand as they tried to open her eyes.

Monique was still stiff under the straps. Vicky comforted Monique as they rushed Monique to the Academy.

                                                                        X

There was so much commotion around her as she felt needles go through her skin, then she felt a tube go under her skin through her ribs and stop in her lungs.

The she saw the hand of death reach for her again.

"We're losing her."

A shocking pulse ran through her body, bringing her back.

"She's going into hypothermic shock."

Everyone's voices seemed far away, unable to see what is taking place around her, Monique used her other senses.

            Fear coming from her.

Tension coming from everyone around her

And worry coming from her savior.

                                                                        X

Vicky held Monique's hand as she calmed her. But realizing that this person wasn't going to make it to the academy, Vicky's powers reached for Monique's soul and started to help her fight death's hand.

"You can make it, Keep fighting."

"Vicky, we need you to go with guardian Azary. "

"I'm staying."

"You can't go any further."

Sam walked over to Vicky and walked her away.

"Sam, I am not leaving until I hear something."

"Alright, then sit down and wait."

Vicky sat in the academy's waiting room and waited for hours on end to hear something.

The doctor came out, and told Vicky the good news.

"But Vicky, we are still working with her eyes."

"So she is still in surgery."

"No, we're letting her rest."

"Can I see her?"

"I don't know if she is awake yet." The doctor said, "But I will call, when she does awaken."

"Okay."

                                                                        X

The hands that touched her burnt wrists were gentle.

They had put this cream onto her eyes and wrapped them. When Monique finally came to her senses, the doctor was in the room.

"Vicky, she awake."

"Thank you."

            The doctor walked out.

"Sweetie, this is Vicky, she saved your life."

The nurse turned to Vicky," Grab her hand and let her know you are there."

Vicky did just that. Then Vicky moved Monique's hand to her face and let Monique gain recognition.

The nurse left and Vicky realized that she was alone with Monique. Thirty minutes of silence passed between them before the nurse came in with a new blood bag.

"How is she doing?"

"She is calmer than before."

"That's good." The nurse said, "She'll be going into surgery again."

"For what?"

"The doctor said that he will able to open her eyes now."

After the doctor explained to Vicky how long it will take, the nurses took Monique into surgery.

Chapter 3:

"Alright class, settle down!" Vicky's history teacher said. "We're going to continue with our notes from yesterday."

Vicky's class went by as slow as possible until a guardian came and gave a note to the teacher and a letter from the doctor to Vicky.

"Hey, Vicky, did your friend die?"

"Summer!" the teacher said, "I believe that you should be writing your notes."

The teacher turn to Vicky, "You may go and check on her. I will send the rest of the notes."

Vicky left the classroom. It had started to snow as she walked to the infirmary. Sam right behind her. When they got there, they were met by head mistress Hernandez. They talked for a while. When Vicky walked in, a nurse was shining a light into Monique's eyes. Vicky sat down next to Monique and grabbed Monique's hand; bring Monique's attention to her.

"Hey, how are you feeling?"

            Silence came.

"It's okay, you can trust us."

Silence again. Vicky moved Monique's hand to her face. After a while recognition came to Monique's eyes. Vicky smiled.

"Do you want to tell me your name?"

Monique looked out the frosted window as the snow fell onto the window seal. But not a single word came out of her mouth. Vicky didn't want to rush her so she got up and started to walk out…

"Monique."

Vicky stopped, "What. What did you say?"

"Monique. My name is Monique."

Vicky walked over to the bedside and sat down, "That's a very beautiful name, Monique."

"We need to fill this paper out so that we have a record for you."

Monique turned to Vicky and then looked around the room. After a while of pure silence…

"What do you need to know?"

Vicky was handed a record form and she started to ask questions.

"When were you born?"

"June 26, 1500."

They continued this task for over thirty minutes.

"What is your full name?"

"Monique Ash…"

"Is that it?" Vicky asked.

            Monique shook her head.

"Monique Ash Dragomire."

Everyone in there, looked at each other with astonished looks.

"Were you born into a royal family?"

Monique looked out the window, "Yes."

"Who were your parents?"

"Keira and Kadmi Dragomire."

The tension dropped from the room.

"Why did you want to know?"

"My name is Vicky Dragomire." Vicky said, "Same last name that's why."

            Understanding flashed across Monique's face.

"So you all thought that I was related to Vicky?"

            Everyone nodded.

Monique looked out at the window again, the snow was falling a lot more now.

Vicky touched Monique's hand, "Are you hungry?"

"Yeah, but not for food."

"For what then?"

Monique beckoned Vicky closer to her. As she whispered to Vicky, "I am hungry for blood."

Vicky sat back in her chair.

"Well, what did she say?"

"She said that she is thirsty for blood."

The doctor turned to a nurse, "Will you bring a feeder?"

The nurse left and came back with a feeder in less than ten minutes.

As they brought the feeder towards Monique, Vicky saw Monique's fangs stretch and she saw something under her tongue. The feeder lifted her wrist up to Monique's mouth and waited for the bite.

Monique lips brushed against the feeder's skin the slit her wrist with one of her fangs, tasting the feeder's blood, she sank her fangs into the main blood vessel of her wrist. Unlike the blood suckers where the blood flows onto their tongue, the blood traveled through Monique's fangs.

Monique's eyes flew open and she pushed the feeder's wrist out of her mouth. The feeder nearly fainted from bite. As they walked the feeder out of the room, Vicky sat on the side of the bed; calming Monique.

"Are you okay?"

Monique nodded.

"Vicky."

            It was the history teacher.

"I thought, I would bring your notes to you."

The history teacher looked at Monique and nodded in acknowledgment.

"Thank you, um, this is Monique, the one that I saved."

"Hello Monique."

"Head mistress Hernandez, is hoping she could fit Monique into some of the classes as soon as the doctor lets her out of here."

"Well Monique, I hope that you will be in one of my classes, it will be an honor to teach you."

            Once the teacher
