Chapter 1 - 1: A Way Out

People always say the world means something, that it's worth enough to thrive in. My question is what thriving even is? You may become a big shot, always on top, destroying any opposition in your way. Or you may be a lucky winner on any one of the countless reality TV shows nowadays and be set for life. However even if you do your still just a human... a disgusting beast that hides its filth under the guise of civility and helpfulness.

As I stand here on top of the tallest building, in the largest city. With all the wealth and power that anyone else would feel lust for, I feel no reason to continue. Throughout my life I've faced almost exclusively hardships.

Being born to parents who only had a kid for the welfare benefits, who still to this day leach of me 23 years in the future. Geting bullied at school as a result of my poor lifestyle, and running to my parents who would just laugh at me. Not being able to enjoy life, because I was always trying to get better in academics or athletics Just to get by in life! Well I've finally found a way out, or at least as close to one as I can get.

I think of this as I hear the winds pass me by, to ruffle the bundle of papers in my hand. I think of the idea of these spreading across town and wonder what the news would say.

Would they play it off? "Young genius bussness tycoon tragicly dies from strong winds while looking over the city!"

Would they blame my parents? "The will of popular businessman XXXX exposed abuse from parents! As well as that all his money and assets will be given to them upon his death?"

Or would they just say its a sad day and leave it at that?

Anything that happens won't affect me anyway. I mean how could it? I'll already be dead by then. As I look down at the ground facing certain death I just can't stop myself.

"hahahaha, See you all in hell you bunch of overgrown apes, and have a happy rest of your stay" as I jump from all that I've built and hit the cold hard ground.
