Ted and Madorn saw it as the best course of action to extinguish the fire, as there were no screams anymore. They ran with their buckets of water, and little by little, it occurred to the high cor that it was a lost cause.
Madorn was clearly thinking the same thing. The fire went out on its own terms. By the time of the death of the last flames, the two men were sitting on top of their sturdy buckets that were now upside down.
Luckily, it had been a controlled fire.
The doves had flown away. There was no trace of this miracle happening, but Eknie was eyeing the ruins with a strange, cautious look.
