Ted didn't know how he had exited Theinskvalur's room. He only knew that he was outside, and that there were so many cat monkeys on the ground, apparently dead, that he could not have counted them, not even in a healthier state of mind. He was, for the first time in his life, truly and completely terrified of himself. He had no limits, nothing he could rely on that would stop his ascension.
Not that it wasn't a good thing, of course. He had long since ceased to think of himself as just another orbiter of a center, rather, he was the center of his own universe, but now he had one orbiter less.
It was a great feeling, yet he felt like he was standing on the top of a mountain. Those things came with some vertigo and involuntary nausea attached to the overwhelming empowerment.
