Ted didn't know if jealousy was a common illness among men of science, but perhaps Madorn was a bit hurt by the news that the high cor had decided to hire another man of reason into the top ladder. The scientific genius was nowhere to be found during the casual excuse for a party that Ted threw once he had settled back in Clayland.
The high cor took care that the human sacrifices he had missed were compensated for. It was an easy task, fooling Stars to think they were approaching a higher level.
Apparently, drowning people could forget which way was up, and this suited Ted nicely.
He only revealed a bit of his intentions to the doctor. The man only turned back to his drawings of infected wounds and said one sentence.
"Even blood dries up, eventually, and the body has to find something else to run on."
