He was on the ground, and at this point, the half-demon did not even bother to use magic against him. A kick sent a jolt of pain through Ted's body and also sent a few teeth flying from his mouth. Mother of worms...this was not good, but his heart felt so, so weird. It was impossible to stand up or to do anything about his situation at all. It felt so dreadful and he did not want to die, of course, but the feeling was like the scratching of a chalk against its board, except that it was a sensation and not a sound. His jaws were involuntarily moving, grinding his teeth without his explicit command, and this alone would have been enough to unsettle him. He preferred to be in control of his own body. Ugh.
But the half-demon seemed to pity him enough to stop the beating, or at least pause it so that the high cor had a moment to recover and collect the last morsels of his sanity.
