Ted took Eknie to meet Eric the next day. He had a pretty good explanation in case Theinskvalur should ask anything about what he was doing with the wizard.
Considering that Theinskvalur had spared her life, Eknie reacted pretty well to the request.
"Sure, I can do that."
That was her reply. If she was truly enthusiastic about something, she always replied with fewer than ten words.
The high cor merely smiled. "So, now we can let Theinskvalur continue the arrangements while I covertly assassinate every last person who would pose a credible threat to Eknie. She has to win to get close enough to Theinskvalur. If she goes through all that trouble in order to serve him, there is no way he will ever believe that she is out to get him."
Eric had been chewing on a toothpick the whole time, eyeing Ted and Eknie with a suspicious frown.
