The fungal growth had moved, but it moved no more, those were the only two things the high cor was sure of.
It had moved, and now the spot on the wall of the cave did not resemble an actual fungus thing as much as it resembled a drop of some dreadfully black liquid, protruding out from the wall in a teardrop shape, and even glimmering - did it actually glimmer like sea glimmered in moonlight? Actually, Ted was not so sure anymore. He could not say with absolute certainty that the spot had even been rounder than it was now, or that something had changed before his very eyes. All he knew now was that there was something deeply suspicious going on, if not in the world outside his head, then at least inside his mind. He was also pretty much convinced that there was something in the caves that affected his mental abilities, whether it was in the stone, or in the air. Something moved deep within the cave system, and it was not necessarily a physical entity.
