There was no time for brainstorming, though. The word got out that a dangerous herd of woolphants was coming towards Libranupometsk and someone had to do something.
That something would be a whole lot of slaughter, but that was the way things were on the Fin. Some people broke their bones in search of a better life. Some people took others' bones and broke them to sacrifice the splinters to whatever god was in fashion at the moment.
Ted was more than fine with it. He felt himself getting more comfortable, so, naturally, he signed up for the hunt and told Theinskvalur that he would not come back before the hunting party had managed to turn the herd away.
Killing all of the woolphants was not realistic at all, and neither was it wise. The humans would have to simply pick out a few elderly woolphants to kill as a warning.
