The negotiations went on for a few hours. Ted counted his strength. He had almost enough men to take on the entire loyalist army, but it was a close call and he did not trust his luck any longer. The Fin was such a hostile place - no one obeyed anything but cruelty and brute force, as far as the cult leader knew.
"What are you planning to do?" Zerielle asked him. "Do you think we can just take the capital with the people we have now?"
"Ideally, I would like to send someone a message, like Eknie, or your father, or someone like them," the cult leader muttered.
He was not sure what to do. Situations had been changing with a frequency that made responding to them quite an impossible feat. It was much like if everyone had suddenly lost their minds. The rebels did not seem functional, but dysfunctional people were certainly easier to fool and to manipulate. On the other hand, his rule as a real, legal ruler of the Fin would base his dominion on stable ground.
