It turned out that Doctor Farthings did blame himself for a lot of things.
Ted did not want to stop him from doing that. It felt just to have the doctor feeling bad about his supposed actions.
After listening to the self-accusations for what felt like three hours, Ted interrupted the patient.
"If you are alive, as you seem to be, you should be thankful. I don't want to listen to more whining. I just want to know whether you remember ANYTHING about the black that is white that is black."
"Why that?" The patient slumped over himself, seemingly in a cognitive rut after exhausting himself too much with his blabbering. "I think it is just a way of saying that something can't be described with natural language."
"Fine, then," Ted huffed, disappointed. "If natural language will not do, perhaps I can find our resident mad scientist Madorn to explain some things using the language of mathematics, if you need more symbols to speak of your experience."
