Ted went to meet the good doctor next. He had some trouble finding the man, but Eknie was able to point out the room.
It looked like a good place to draw a last breath, with colorful, yet calming decorations, and a lingering scent of flowers, but Ted didn't feel like letting the man die, not yet, when he still had so much to find out about the Draconist Pack and its equivalents.
"Have you come to your senses?" Ted asked, closing the door.
There was not a single sound in the room except for the labored breathing coming from the mass of bandages that had once been a very competent man.
Ted went to check whether the fellow was even responsive at all. It could be that all this stress had caused the man to fall into a permanent coma, despite some temporary improvements in his condition.
Ted sat down next to him and squeezed his hand.
The doctor did not squeeze the hand of the cult leader back.
