One would have thought that such happy news were capable of evening out all creases of the relationship between the cultists and their leader. Ted would have thought so. Apparently, though, it was not by his doing that the others had survived and managed to safely anchor their airship.
It was not something that he had achieved by himself, of course, but he would have wanted his underlings to think it was. He was angry, yet the situation called for happy faces and glee, and he had none of those things. Again, he had to fake it when he was questioned. Why had he not seen everything in his cards? Yes, the existence of the Draconist Pack was now common knowledge, thanks to some particularly sneaky eavesdroppers.
Ted did not suspect that the doctor had said anything about it. The man could hardly even speak, only croaking enough with his distinctive voice that he could be identified.
