"We will be able to get to the island, but we are going to need the energy of more than one person to manipulate the currents of water," Ted told his cultists. "This chunk of ice is massive and moves rather slowly. I will make it move faster, but we still have to solve a problem. You see how the sea changes color near what appears to be a shallow spot near the island? That is out of our reach, given the current course."
Madorn raised an eyebrow. "Where did you learn all that? That's expert sailor stuff."
"That is rudimentary sailor stuff. Don't underestimate me unless I ask you to do so. I might have stolen your books."
"Good," Madorn said. "Now that we all agree...the lighter spot will be impossible for us to reach...how about the deeper waters further along the coastline?"
