Ted had expected resistance from the doctor.
Farthings sat upright in his bed, sorrowfully staring at a regular pack of playing cards spread out in front of him.
"Why did you become so obsessed with the Draconist Pack?" Ted asked him.
Eknie was standing right beside the cult leader, caressing a gun.
Ted thought the doctor was taking too long to perish naturally from the sickness. It could very well be that the man was faking it entirely. Ted knew there were potions that were not exactly potions, tinctures and medicine one could take, to be able to display symptoms of an illness. It was within the boundaries of reason that Farthings would do something like that, even though Ted had no idea about his motives.
"Why should one not be obsessed with something that can prolong one's life, potentially with weeks, perhaps even years?"
