Chapter 3 - Answer My Prayers

After what felt like an hour Creed and his fellow part members were at their wits end. It appeared their siege had actually wore them down more than they thought.

Emilio was being pummeled by the Frost king his body slammed into the ground like he was a sac of potatoes. He was finally thrown down into the ground as he barreled through the stone.

The troll let out a sleight chuckle as his eyes pulsed further with the dark energies surrounding his massive figure. Emilio stumbled and got up out of the mass of rock and stone as he wiped the blood from his face. His wounds regenerating at an alarming rate. "That hurt!" As he charged forward once again.

Vivian and Conrad had rushed over to the Red Dragon King's side to have him deal with the wraiths as the duo was confident in fending off the Ice Drake Queen better than slashing at the airborne specters in the throne room.

"Vesuvius, switch!"

The troll noticed that although the wraiths could damage the group and his ice dragon subordinate was formidable it fended off Emilio once again to called upon the aid of its master.

"God of Calamity, your servant beckons thee. Here my cry. Bless me with your might so that I may carry out your will!"

As if every shadow in the vicinity had gained life the dark spots and areas void of light slithered like snakes and gathered beneath the trolls feet.

A curtain of darkness raised up behind the troll and encapsulated his large frame, mutating it's once blue hues skin into a dark purple shade. The light in its eyes intensified. A cold raspy voice echoed in the room.. "I… have…. Heard you…. My….child. Use… my army… to… your hearts… conten-t…"

The voice sent chills down every warm blooded creature that could here it. Even the mighty hunters shuddered as its voice reverberated off the walls.

The troll brandished a devilish grin, raising a palm and shouting…"COME FORTH!!" The troll slammed his hand into the ground and opened a portal to Nether World. The the deep and sorrowful moans could be heard as from the portal as thousand of specters shot forth.

The opening of the gate shook the very foundations of the castle as the God of Calamity had sent forth his army. Vesuvius arrived and gaped his maw unleashing an onslaught of purifying flames. The specters vanished but for every one the great dragon vanquished, many more took its place.

The specters poured from the walls of the castle like a fountain of death as the army swarmed the forces of the great realms en mass. Hundreds of soldiers were falling by the minute. Their souls torn from their roots and fed to the Great God reviving him further.

"I must help the front lines! It is too cramped here for me to exude my true strength." Vesuvius ran outside and took flight as he transformed into the great and powerful form he was known for.

He knew that he could slow down these ghastly beings with his flame but he also knew that as of right now they needed a miracle to stop this onslaught as they were indeed fighting a god…

In the celestial realm the Creator was bearing witness to the revival of the great calamity, or the Exiled One as he and his fellow gods called it.

The creator was indifferent about its arrival to the mortal plane. So long as it remained there and did not make it back to the celestial realm there was no cause for concern. The calamity had only managed to start corrupting this planet on its own. Among the mortal realm the Creator with his fellow gods oversaw billions of planets and the many lives that called those places home.

He merely spectated this war as a means to entertain himself.

The gods monitor these planets to create followers. These followers provide prayers and offerings which in turn give the celestial their strength.

One thing the gods do to invoke worship is provide blessings to the primitive life forms that dot the surface of these worlds. In-turn, these beings are typically inspired and begin to praise and worship the gods for doing so.

Ubi was one of the many difficult worlds to maintain followers in as the natural influence of the planet itself made followers very low in number. Spirits and elementals are the main reason for this as they have constant presence on the planets they reside.

Usually the more mana generated by a planets core, the more difficult it is to maintain followers. Still though, having believers on these rocks was worthwhile, as theirs prayers hold more value due to the natural energy of the world. The residents of Ubi typically call this energy "mana".

Seeing the God of Calamity brought back many fond memories for the Creator. He originally was a god of war but had since been promoted to "Creator" as the war he became famous in took place eons ago.

Now he leisurely tries to increase his strength always hoping for something exciting to happen. Typically gods are forbidden from visiting the mortal plan as their presence alone would stir up the local spirits and anger fellow gods as it would be seen as them trying to strong arm the residents to be their followers. This was the exact reason that the Exiled One had been banished.

Interestingly enough, the Creator heard a prayer…. Something like this had not happen in quite a long time. Even among the many years and billions of planets. This was a rare event indeed.

"Lord Creator, bringer and ender of life. I, Bartholomew Creed ask for your strength. I give you my life in exchange for but a moment of your aid. To rid the world of this monstrosity and bring peace."

With a grin the God realized he may be able to have fun for a few brief moments as he had not done so in a millennia. A flash of light and the god was gone.
